My Trip to Thailand Pt.1

So my trip to Thailand started off alright. I went to Thailand on business and was hoping to gain 20% shares in a new emerging company out there.

I was picked up from the airport by my potential future business partner and we go on very well in the beginning. We had to initially go to FedEx to collect some new components that he had ordered. This was the first encounter and understanding of how the Thai people work :/

To collect 2 boxes the process took 3 hours and when we first arrived we saw that they had the boxes ready, but said they are now going to go on a lunch break. So we had to come back and collect them later. So, we went to a mall and decided to get pizza.

The weather was very hot, but nice. We went to the mall and they were all wearing surgical masks due to the corona virus outbreak. So I decided to wrap my bandanna around my face and started to get a lot of dodgy looks from the locals.

We eventually went back after having some weird ass pizza, with pineapples and a bunch of other fruit on it. However, we went back and they still weren't ready. So this is when my partner told me they all work on bribes here. So the average living wage there is around 10,000 baht a month. So, he took out around 50,000 baht to flaunt in their faces and said he would give them a tip if they got the boxes quickly. So, they quickly got the boxes and he have 3 of them 1,000 baht each.

We left there and now it a 2 hour drive to the villa I would be staying . The personal driver that we had was very friendly. We had VIP van which was all pimped out with a small refrigerator in the back where I was and there was a multitude of drinks to pick from.

We finally got to the villa and I put my suitcase there and then we had to drive another hour to the warehouse. When we arrived at the warehouse there were a few workers there doing the stuff, and about 50 GPUs online. The mission statement was to have 500 GPUs online before I left. (in 2 weeks.)

I got straight to work and got all the components together and built my own PC. I was very tired during this whole time and I didn't sleep very well on the plane giving it was a 12 hour journey. So, we got a bit of organisation in the place and had to head back 2.5 hours to the airport to pick up another person who was helping the project coming from LA.

I slept in the car for a few hours and then after picking him up we headed back towards the villa and went through the beach to get something to eat. Upon arrival at the restaurant I saw A LOT of prostitutes all lined up on the beach.

We finished, I got dropped off and went to sleep. That was my first day in Thailand. There was a lot of problems that arose shortly after this day.
