London's Richboy Phase

What happened, London?

By RazPublished 7 years ago 3 min read

So I'm not here to start a debate or argument, let's get one thing straight here. I've been told I can make money about anything I can write. So I choose to write about London because right now it hurts my heart to see London like this.

I've been a Londoner from the get-go, born and bred, watching the same CBBC stuff and CITV cartoons just like any other kid did in England from 1997 to 2005, getting excited to go Woolworths and getting ecstatic about Kinder Surprise Eggs. Only difference is my parents came from Bangladesh.

Originally from Camden, everything was always so damn cheap. No one gave a toss about how they looked cause everyone knew that was for celebs. Yh maybe some stuff here and there like the shambala or one earring grew on us but it was never too much. It was a humble time between 2005 and 2009 where phones were still so cheap and no one cared what they look like. It was always about being polite and buying each other gifts and just trying to be a good hearted person.

Then all of a sudden it just changed man. Like proper. Businesses were going down, expensive food shops were opening up all across. Suddenly there was a need to look good. How the hell did this happen? It's not British culture. Not British culture at all. Let me tell you something, reader who wants to learn about London. Living in London yh, it's like being a soldier. You stay in line and keep yourself humble. Or otherwise the economy starts to change and suddenly the way of living is so expensive that you realise all you are is an asset and not a human being. Because when people have to support you or when everyone knows money is a problem, that's when everyone gets involved. That's when you're seen as a human. But you keep buying iPhones and spend £50 on meals and rent stupidly for like £800, there's no love. Trust me on that.

I know this is going on like a rant but I can't help it. I've just graduated spending god knows what to keep me sane and turnunto an educated and better human being, to get what? I get rejected on a job app where the job description said I don't need qualifications or experience. So this is one of my last hopes of making something before I see London turn to utter shit mate. Yh sure it's nice to know the economy is doing well, but for who though? Those people who are renting out houses instead of buying 1 house and staying humble. It all comes back to what I said. People can't stay humble these days. Most people buy one house and cry with their family and friends and make a life out of it and have kids. In London, estate agents sell houses to people who already own houses and let them rent ridiculous prices. Utter bullshit I tell you. We're only human beings. And when I say we there's a good lot of us that don't like London the way it is now. My friend is an East End fella and told me news reported that his kind is dead? London is trying to eliminate those who made London what it is, instead of trying to give everyone a fairer chance. I hate it.

Also there's so many of us looking for work that employers are getting pick. In 2018. Are you dumb? I need a job so I don't sit at home all day nd let the Tories find another way to bend me backwards. How are we in an era where we let companies employ people because they pay them less and can't speak English? London does not have a standardised organisation that checks on minimum wages, policies or company standards. That's why the Yankees are charging £1,000 for a stupid slab of talking metal.

If you've made it this far, congrats, you know my pain. I just hope you're someone thay can utilise information and stay humble, cause that's part of the reason why people wanted to move here. Other countries were too expensive. Let that sink in. Anyway I need to go. God bless and God save us all.
