Let the adventure begin
Yosemite National Park, California

Everything I needed was in those 3 bags waiting to be carried to the plane, climbing gear, camping gear, and some clothes and that was pretty much it. Everything I needed to survive this new adventure. Of course, Mom and Dad were a little worried and accompanied me to the airport, checked a thousand times if I was good to go and had one last coffee with me. And in just one moment it was time to go, I took my bag, said goodbye and walked through the gates.
As soon as I boarded the plane I had this nauseating feeling that I wouldn’t wish on anyone, ever! I had to take two flights to get to Fresno and in both of them, not only did a bunch of kids were super loud and running around the plane but I had to get up every hour to throw up. Yes, every hour! I was pretty miserable and wanted to just lay on the floor and die slowly. When we finally got to Fresno around midnight I was happy to call the hotel so they could pick me up and spend that last night in a comfy bed and have a great breakfast before we started camping. But of course, that wasn’t going to be as amazing because I woke up every hour during the night because now I couldn’t even keep water down and I was starting to get worried about that.
Around midday or a bit earlier Rodo, Arce and Alvaro arrived from LA so we could start our trip to the most amazing place in the world 🌎.
After a little gear and food shopping in Fresno, we were on our way to the Valley and I was dying on the car. I was feeling so bad that at some point we decided that maybe calling a doctor would be a good idea… Later. In the meantime, I was curled up in the car seat waiting for the cause feeling to go away.

And suddenly we were there! And the view was breathtaking, I’ve never seen anything like that before. And they were it, the nausea was gone and a feeling of… I want to say realization, but I don’t truly know what it was… And I realized that it was fear all along. Suddenly the dream had become reality and it was no longer a plan, we were actually there.

Waking to the base of El Cap looking at that never-ending ocean of granite, thinking “what have I done? How did I get here?” The thing is this wall is so much bigger than what I ever imagined, makes you feel crazy small and it looks so imposing that in that second I really couldn’t imagine myself climbing it, I was having doubts right there, but at the same time, I was super excited to give it a go. But first things first, we had to make our plan and get settled in the campsite, so we went to Camp 4 to see what the deal was there. And as it was expected we had to wait to get in the next day super early, but the rest of the day was pretty much looking around and planning what we were going to do for the next couple of days.
So much to do and so little time to do it.
