Britannia Has Set Sail
Almost two hours ago, the Britannia ship departed from Southampton to take 3000 passengers around the delights and beauty of Norway. I am one of those people. I’m sitting on the deck chair on my balcony watching the land fade with the sunset. I see other ships from the distance but they look so tiny compared to Britannia. Maybe they’re the same size or even bigger but they are too far to tell.

Best West Coast Vacations
West coast vacations may be peaceful or exciting, spent pampered like a princess in the center of a metropolis or living as one with nature. They can be a weekend or a month long, though you may not be blamed for extending your stay, and the area is suited for travel by plane, foot, and even train.

The Road Less Traveled
We all hear the same bullet points at college orientation about activities to do and clubs to join. Sometimes study abroad gets mushed in there between drama club and inter-mural soccer, but no one ever pushes it. The only reason I inquired about study abroad was because it was something I had always wanted to do. And whether my school had a good study abroad program or not, I was going to make it happen. Luckily, my school had an awesome study abroad office with plenty of options to make my dream happen.

London's Underground
I recently read Dennis Green’s article in Business Insider, which compared London’s Underground to New York’s MTA, and the entire time I was screaming: “Yesssss!” I visited London a few months ago in April and ever since, I have been telling almost everyone I know about how the Underground (or the Tube, as the Brits call it) is godsend compared to the MTA. Here’s why:

Finding Nessie
Nessie, what a beautiful name! I had never heard about it before until my recent trip to the highlands of Scotland, a place known as Loch Ness, situated a few miles away from the small town of Inverness. It was an instant plan, we booked two tickets a night before with the much recommended 'Loch Ness by Jacobite.' It was a guided tour of approximately three hours. We had to reach the pickup point at Inverness Bus station. The adventure started as soon as we boarded the bus. Our bus driver, Ian, took us on a short ride of the city Inverness and then told us the legend of 'Nessie' the monster.

Small Experiences Teach Life Changing Lessons
Imagine for a second that you were raised in a country that claims itself as “Center of the world, heart of the universe.” You’d think that cultural understanding is common, wouldn’t you? Well, I was, yet that concept seems utopic to me because every day I get the unpleasant chance to read xenophobic comments of people who grew up next to me. People who, thanks to social media, see the foreigners as threats in their country. And I realize that it not only happens in the small piece of land where I grew up; it happens all over the world every single day.

Traveling Simplistically
I have found no greater joy in life than taking time off from school, work, and my everyday hustle and bustle to drop everything, but a suitcase of clothes and the travel bug, and explore. Simplicity seems to be the only way to find my way back to how I want to spend my days on this Earth.
