Why You Should Go to Banff, AB at Least Once
I was originally going to post a bucket list of places I want to travel... But then I came across a photo of a beautiful lake with a breathtaking view of mountains! I knew it had to be Banff, AB and I feel like everyone should go there at least once in their lifetime.

The TRUTH About Studying Abroad
"Three and a half months in Spain?! Girl, you're so lucky! I'm so jealous." These are the phrases I heard all summer from my friends and family back home before leaving fall, 2018 for Spain. Yes, it's true: I get to spend almost four months in another county studying the beautiful language and culture of Spain, and for this I'm incredibly thankful. However, there are things I've run into that I wasn't expecting and/or wasn't sure how to handle.

Thoughts of an Immigrant...
After sixteen years of being away from a place I had once considered my oasis, being reunited with one of my long-esteemed childhood friends in Chicago had been like a breath of fresh air. After being disconnected for years from my culture, my home, my friends, and family, I had started to perceive my heart as a separate entity. A lot of people raised in two different cultures can attest to the fact that sometimes it feels like the mind is one place and the heart is in another.

Countries
There are multiple places I would like to visit. Ireland I would like to visit here because I have some Irish in me. My birthday is on March 17, so I am a lucky Irish baby. I want to go visit here to go see the old castles, as well as the stone building thing. I have no idea what it is called. Ireland seems so beautiful. I would love to go and take pictures of the scenery. I want to go see the history. I have always been interested in learning about the past. Supposedly they have a storytelling tradition. It seems very interesting to me.

Jebi Typhoon Day
It was decided that all schools are canceled due to a “life-threatening typhoon.” However, regardless of whether students are at school, it is expected that teachers be at school, typhoon or shine. This rule also applies for summer, winter, and spring breaks; teachers have to be at school whether they have work to do or not and whether there are students or not. Luckily, on my way to work in the morning, the typhoon was not at full potential. However, there were significantly less workers going to work because the typhoon had already damaged the trains. Thus, I rode a practically empty bus 45 minutes to work. My mentor messaged me on the bus, and she said, “I think it would be best if you took a holiday and leave in the afternoon.” I was confused by this statement because I would prefer not to take a vacation day when I didn’t need to, so I messaged a few returning teachers asking them to interpret/decipher her message for me. Basically, rather than sending me home because the buses would be canceled in the afternoon and because there is nothing for me to do, I needed to take a half vacation day to leave school, hoping to catch the last running bus. I was slightly annoyed by this situation and culture the same way one would be slightly irritated by someone who eats a KitKat bar by biting into the whole thing instead of breaking it off into the smaller bars. Each school is different, but generally, teachers go to school when school gets canceled, they get asked to take a half day vacation day or they get sent home without needing to use vacation days. I would’ve preferred the latter but I wasn’t too bothered because the half day suggestion was for my safety and so I wouldn’t be stranded in the countryside in the middle of a catastrophic typhoon.

Top 5 Places Not to Miss in Glasgow's West End
I love to host friends and family in my flat, and I've invited just about everyone I know to stay with me since I moved to Glasgow; the side effect of this is that I've visited every famous landmark dozens of times. The thing is, those are never the sites my guests love the most; everybody seems to go back home gushing over the little things I've shown them—places I discovered while wandering around the West End and came to love. Oh Boy, Oh Boy!!!
First day of school! So exciting and nerve-racking. I don't think I have been this nervous and excited to go to the first day of school since 6th grade! Yes, it was an excruciatingly long period of formal education years, but here I am! I'll have to back track soon after I finish this post as I have left out a few events, but I figured it'd be best to write about the raw emotions emerging from the first day of school and from the second day of school being a typhoon day.

It’s already been two years since I moved here in the United States from the Philippines. Two different cultures, two different scenarios, and lots and lots of differences in everything. But the one thing that gives me excitement about living here in the US is the changes in season because when I was in the Philippines I only experienced sunny days and rainfalls.

Bulgaria: Do or Don't?
Bulgaria, if nothing else, is beautiful. Between its vast sandy beaches and its cute, timely old towns, there's plenty of sightseeing to be done. If you're a keen photographer then I'd say it is definitely one for the bucket list. I'm no Annie Leibovitz but even I could capture its beauty.

Why Your Next Vacation Should Be All Inclusive
The perfect vacation shouldn't stress you out before you even get there. That defeats the whole purpose of a vacation. I took my first ever all inclusive vacation on a resort, and I don't think I'll go on another vacation that doesn't have all inclusive perks. Okay, maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but overall I was highly satisfied with my trip. I'm here to share with you why you should consider it for your next vacation.
