White Road
Some things may be illegal in some countries sometimes. While things change as time washes over them like water in bedrock, we as people find it difficult to move forward and to accept. When the signs say “no trespassing due to unsafe conditions” I can’t help but feel that my life, including my wallet, is more important to our system than to myself.

Our Roman Holiday at the Outset of the Pandemic Outbreak
We happened to visit Rome, last February(2020) when Italy was about to become the world’s worst Covid-19 affected countries. We were oblivious of the virus outbreak there, and we had this trip planned months in advance. At that time, there was just one case in Germany from where we started. We (un)fortunately didn’t check the number of cases or severity in Italy. We met my husband’s colleague at the station, who was traveling elsewhere; who lightly hinted that there is coronavirus in the air there. We however didn’t even think about giving heed and jumped into our train as we lugged the baby stroller and our luggage along. We were going. The four of us, me, my husband, our two kids who were about eight and two at that time.

Alabama Coastal Wildlife
It is not difficult to find coastal Alabama wildlife. The beaches, rivers, back bays, lagoons, lakes, and bayous are teeming with wildlife, much of it quite easy to find. On a typical walk on the beach, you will see great blue herons wading in the water, brown pelicans flying in a V-formation overhead, and seagulls diving into schools of small fish in the water.

Equinox Essentials & Epiphanies
I share my Birthday with the Earth. The Vernal Equinox brings the birds and the bees, and the pale green buds of new life. It’s the time to clear away the dead and make room, so the light can get to the tender green shoots pressing their ways through the soil.

My Dream Destination: Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is a country located in Central Asia. Uzbekistan lies primarily between two major rivers called the Syr Darya (also known as the ancient Jaxartes River) to the northeast, and the Amu Darya (also known as the ancient Oxus River) to the southwest. Uzbekistan is bordered by other Central Asian countries like Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to the east and southeast, Kazakhstan to the northwest and north, Afghanistan to the south, and Turkmenistan to the southwest. The independent republic of Karakalpakstan (also spelled Qoraqalpoghiston) is situated in the western third of Uzbekistan. The Soviet government founded the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic as a union republic of the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) in 1924. Uzbekistan declared its autonomy from the USSR on August 31, 1991 and the capital is Tashkent (also spelled Toshkent).

I Saw a Ghost
I’ve been having this problem over the past few years. Trying to decipher one reality from another. I’m sure there’s a more sophisticated diagnosis that can help me figure it out. But I’d rather not venture into the psychological and medical side. The imagination is boundless and is grounded by one’s passion. To take away someone’s imagination is to take away their drive to see with more than just the eye. The greatest gift of all is for us to be able to express our own individuality. The true nature of the human spirit is being able to share our senses with the world. If I see something, I can describe it, draw it, write about it. If I heard or felt something, I could tell you about the sound it made or what it felt like when it hit my skin. By doing so, we both can share in the same experience through the mind’s eye. With all that said, I’d like to tell you about the time I saw a ghost… and his name was Miles.
