What Is on My Horizon?
May, 2019 The day of the Cairns reef trip started sunny with a fresh breeze. My cousin Sylvie dropped me off at the reef marina on her way to work. "Have fun and don't touch the crocodiles!" she shouted jokingly as she drove away. I hoped to see only turtles and colorful fish on this four hour tour but Sylvie had mentioned crocs and small sharks were in the water. She said sharks and jellyfish were the reasons why she walked on the local beaches but didn't swim.

A Man By The Sea
Each evening, I sit here. Witnessing the golden sun, as it prepares to sleep far in the distance. Lighting the sky with a fiery orange and red glow. I hear the horn of the cruise ship "tooting" goodbye as it sails to the next port. Three times, as dictated by maritime tradition. In contrast, I notice an old sailboat that sits quietly in the horizon, small to the eyes, making its way slowly, gliding through the waves. It used to be a party boat years ago, full of life and music. Now, it just sails from one side of the island to the other. A ghost ship. Drifting away, every day. That's the passage of time, the passage of life. The wind guides it towards its destination. The same wind that, as a light breeze, brushes my face whispering a tropical melody.

Martha’s Vineyard A Small And Gorgeous City In Massachusetts
My parents are the biggest motivation in my life. My entire family is the product of Harvard University. They have been telling me to join Harvard since my childhood. Both my brother and sister are pass outs of Harvard. Though I mainly was interested in music and never had plans to go to Harvard. I love playing the drums. I am also in my school band. They have supported me but always said that it was just a passion and not a career. I love my family, but I also love to play. I was the only talented kid in the family with music; my grandparents always said that I was a musical gem of the family. Most of the motivation was from them for my music.

The Keeper of the Creed
She stood facing the wind and wrapped her coat close around her body, though it did little to ward off the bitter chill. The bow of the ship rocked in the waves as she bared down more firmly on her feet trying not to stumble. Looking out on the horizon she caught glimpse of what she thought was a ship, panic instantly rising in her chest. Realizing that they couldn't possibly know she was gone already, she allowed herself to relax a bit. Her eyes must be playing tricks on her.
