My 15 Unforgettable Travel Memories of 2018 – Highs and Lows
My 15 Unforgettable Travel Memories of 2018 – Highs and Lows. All I can say is wow! What a year it was. 2018 was such an active and incredible year for me. This year was all about adventure and exploring new countries. All together 9 weeks, 13 flights, 3 continents, 7 countries, 5 islands, 11 cities, countless villages. Thousands of photos. 33 blog posts. Feelings of all sorts. Happy smiles, crocodile tears, excitement, disappointments. I have encountered them all.

Welcome Back
Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out… For sure. My dreams, though never defined, definitely involved traveling abroad, determined to make it out of my jacked-up neighborhood and even more jacked-up town. I’d left once before several years ago and came back, so technically this is round two. In both cases, wherever I was traveling in the world, there was an ever present thought in the back of my mind. It was there on the island of Koh Chang in Thailand, while walking along the beach in the moonlight with a French girl I’d just met, almost too pretty to be real. It was there at a party in the Swedish embassy in Tokyo, wine glass in hand, surrounded by rich types, feeling like an extra in a Bond movie. It was with me at Café de Flore in Paris, as I sipped my café avec Chantilly and nibbled on a croissant. I made sure to enjoy every minute of every moment. Because I knew. I knew I was on borrowed time. Sooner or later the jig would be up and I’d have to return to my reality. Sure enough, here I am, back home where I started.

No middleman, no government, no NGO. Just people.

Finding General Tso Chicken in China
Who does not love General Tso Chicken? It is a delightful and succulent breaded and spicy recipe and is one of the most requested dishes at Chinese Restaurants. While General Tso is famous here in the U.S., have we ever wondered if it is viewed the same way by the Chinese in China? I had the chance to find out when I visited China in 2002.

Trekking: A Worth Remembering Experience
Choosing a perfect trek is not that easy because there are beautiful and innumerable landscapes in India. Exploring the unknown territories, inhaling fresh mountain air, viewing breathtaking scenes will not only make us healthy but will also clear our head. Interactions with nature are always cheerful and are worth remembering incidences, they are considerably more than that. Even bounding such adventures into words seems so unpractical.

Journeying to Green Knowe
A little boy was sitting in the corner of a railway carriage looking out at the rain, which was splashing against the windows and blotching downward in an ugly, dirty way. He was not the only person in the carriage, but the others were strangers to him. He was alone, as usual.
