7 Budget Tips to Travel in Switzerland
In all of my travels, I have to say that Switzerland is one of the most beautiful and incredible countries I’ve visited. I had to pinch myself several times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. The lush, green rolling hills and the delicious chocolate had me mesmerized. However, the $17 burgers from McDonald’s and $8 cappuccinos left me a little shocked.

My Adventure in Afghanistan
As the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches along with the international military withdrawal, I recall a special moment I had there: attending Catholic Mass. However, before I share my story about the church, I must highlight that my culinary experience in Afghanistan was quite different from what I had in Iraq. Palm Springs
For this past 4th of July weekend my partner and I chose to head out to Palm Springs, Ca. Neither one of us is really into fireworks and the previous year we had taken a spur of the moment trip to Pala, Ca. We stayed at the Pala Hotel and Casino and enjoyed everything from the slots, to the pool, the food and most definitely the entertainment. Well into the pandemic, the world had only just begun to open up. Precautions were most assuredly a must, with temperature upon entry and masks that were required to be worn at all times unless eating or drinking only to be quickly placed back on the face. Our trip that year was so much fun and highly enjoyable but that is another story for another time. This time is Palm Springs and as luck would have it we were again near another casino.

Rules of the River
A splash echoed through the mountains. We turned to see a river guide, with several squealing kids on his boat, pull his paddle out of the water. The children followed suit, attacking the water with their paddles as hard as they could, each causing only a miniscule splash.
