KNOWLEDGE IS VITAL

You'll need it when there's no stimuli

By Emos Sibu Poriei (Kaya)Published about a year ago 1 min read

In my country Papua New Guinea, especially in the nation's capital Port Moresby, it's natural to drink water frequently because of the heat from the sun. You feel thirsty so in a day a person can drink more than a litre of water.

When I traveled to London in 2018 with my husband for his graduation, it was freezing cold in winter and every where we went, I felt the need to drink a hot cup of tea or soup so we would visit those beautiful restaurants in between our walks.

I didn't feel the need to drink water. That sense of thirst that was usually stimulated by the sun's heat was gone. But then it's important to drink water at least three times a day so I had to do it.

Sometimes in life we need knowledge to do things even when the stimulus is not present. I guess that is a lesson I am learning now.

Wow! this was lovely and educational.

  • I drink about 2.5 to 3 liters of water daily. But that's because it's so hot here. I could never survive winter hahaha
