How to Book Your Stay at Connect@Changi

Singapore has been eager to resume international business travel. With a pandemic at large, it wasn’t possible to welcome business travellers into the country. After some of the restrictions were lifted, some business travel was resumed, and businesspeople started coming in. However, it was required that they serve quarantine, which could put a dampener on an investor’s mood who might be willing to make a substantial investment. But Singapore found a way to solve that problem.

1.Opening of Connect@Changi

Connect@Changi is a short-stay facility that was opened on Feb 18. This was initiated as part of the efforts to revive corporate travel Singapore. A hotel cum business facility, Connect@Changi, is segregated in a way that guests do not have to interact with the community. However, they can still have face to face business meetings. The facility has special meetings rooms with different ventilation systems meant for travellers and people from within the borders of Singapore. During the first phase, the hotel launched 150 rooms along with 40 meeting rooms; one meeting room can accommodate four to twenty-two guests.

2.How is Connect@Changi different from other hotels?

This is a purpose-built facility meant for short stays. International travellers and Singapore business people can conduct business meetings here. At Connect@Changi, corporate travellers can attend to business matters in a safe and controlled environment.

3.Check-in and check out time

There’s no standard schedule. The times are decided based on your arrival and departure, and the facility offers hourly rates.

4.How many guests are permitted in one room?

Two people can occupy one room, given that they arrive on the same flight. Guests are advised to stay inside the assigned room. It is also important to notice that this facility doesn’t allow pets.

5.Is transportation provided?

Airport transfers are provided by the facility; you’ll be taken back to the airport at the end of your stay. Also, you cannot make your own transport arrangements – guests can only use transport provided by the facility; the cost is included in the room rate.

6.Are guests allowed to leave the premises?

According to the facility rules, guests cannot leave the facility.

7.The day of your departure

You don’t need to check out at 12 pm. The facility will arrange transport for you two hours prior to your flight departure time. After the checkout, you cannot go out exploring the city; you are required to head directly to the airport.

8.Booking a room

You need to first make sure that you are allowed to travel to Singapore. If you are allowed, you can then proceed to book a room. This can be done through the Connect@Changi mobile app or website. The full payment should be made upon the confirmation of your booking. You can make payments through the website or the mobile app.

9.Cancellation policy

You can cancel your booking, but there are conditions. If you cancel a day before the check-in, you don’t need to pay anything. If it’s less than a day before the check-in, you’ll be charged for the day; the same rule applies if a guest doesn’t show up. If you want to cancel the reservation of a meeting room, the full payment of the room will be charged; the same applies if it’s a no show.

10.Are rooms at Connect@Changi safe?

Yes. All rooms are cleaned and sanitised as per the guidelines dictated by the Singapore Ministry of Health. Also, you cannot go to visit your friends in another room even if they arrived on the same flight. A meeting room should be booked if you need to have discussions.
