Ghana: Why You Should NOT Go There If You've Never Been to Africa Before
Ghana and Nigeria remain the top 2 countries for diaspora wars, they are also the top 2 scamming countries in Africa

First to those who have common sense, you should never plan your trip to a country that is ranked 2nd in Africa for scamming and overall 5th in the world. That is a disatorus idea, especially if you have never been to an African country.
In 2023 Ghana dropped from most peaceful country in West Africa being over taken by Sierra Leone. Ghana is ranked 4th most peaceful country in Africa but no one seems to care that there are 3 conflict areas in Ghana and crime has risen over 40% in tbe country since 2021.
This was contained in the 2021 edition of its annual ‘Ghana Public Safety and Crime Report.’
Steve Harvey is a snake oil salesman, he is only pushing for Ghana because he clearly has some investments in the country. Many wealthy Americans have either built hotels, homes or entertainment spots in Ghana as a way to earn money. They don't earn unless you travel there, if Steve Harvery were to give up his life and move to Ghana full-time he would live in a segragated wealthy community, no where near the avaerage Ghanaian.
There are 56 countries in Africa, 55 members of the African Union, ask youself why not suggest Rwanda, Kenya, Namibia, Botwana, none of the North African countries come out of Steve Harvey's mouth?
Ask youself why Seychelles the most developed country in Africa isn't mentioned by him.
Then ask youself why a country that was prolific in providing Africans to the slave trade and to this day in 2024 refuses to teach about not only their part in selling Africans but nothing about American Chattel Slavery.
Sadly there are many African-American influencers pushing for Ghana, however they don't mention several things, that someone should be aware of before hand.
Many don't live in Ghana full-time, a lot gave up everything to move to Ghana so they are stuck and becoming social media influencers was one way for them to make a living in Ghana.
There is a Nigerian TikTok'er and he has the most honest videos, his videos also are aimed towards women dating African men. He is very honest about African men scamming women to gain citizenship to their countries. He goes live on TikTok to answer questions and he seems to really want women to be careful.
Many Black Americans who have never been to an African country don't understand how different the culture is, they simply assume since they share the title "African" that they are the same.
I was constantly told I wasn't a "real" Black person while living in Ghana, that many Africans don't believe that Black Americans are Black people. One thing common in Ghana is that I use the term Black American and most Ghanaians do as well because refusing to refer to you as "African", is something that happens in many African countries. Nigeria and Ghana remain the top 2 countries fueling the diaspora wars.
Oddly enough Nigeria is ranked 1st in Africa for scamming, Ghana comes in right behind them.
You can see this even living in the United States as most refuse to even live near Black people in the US.
There are social issues that shouldn't be ignored, Steve Harvey a millionaire isn't the person to take advise from. The fact that Ameriacns are being overcharged and more likely to be targeted for phone snatching, fraud, romance scams and sadly even murder. Femicide and gender-based violence are rampant in Ghana, yet they're pushing for another Anti-LGTBQ bill but silent on abuse and murder of women.
Let everyone pretend the rape culture in Ghana doesn't exist, like every other movement, like the ones in Kenya, Ghanaians were hoping that the 'Me Too' movement would call out the rape culture in Ghana. It didn't and the meek, mild Massa calling Ghanaians didn't move with the movement. Ghanaians call themselves timid but it is more cowardly.
However beating a woman, raping them is not something a lot of men in the country are scared of doing. The lawlessness of Ghana they know won't ever result in their arrest.
I was sexually assaulted by a Ghana police officer and found out there are many women who have been sexually abused and raped in Ghana. Most don't report a thing. I went to Ghana's IGP, no one cared, none of the police offiers even the women.
I've written about the scamming in Ghana several times, the fact that Ghanaians label Nigerians scammers is the most insulting thing ever. Ghanaians rarely accept any of their own issues.
Ghanaians are even scamming their own who live outside of the country, they seem to have no shame. A country where they proclaim to love everyone scamming their own because they think they have so much wealth because they work and live outside of the country.
Steve Harvey even made an entire video about paying bribery fees to the Ghana and South African police when he was stopped. In this video which I will supply below he said simply paying them $100.00 USD to let you go, at least they won't shot and kill you.
The average Black American does not have $1oo dollars to pay a greedy, corrrupted African police officer, to suggest that this is normal is stupidity. No one should ever visit.a country where bribery is nomalized. But Ghanaians continue to push this nonsense and pretend to be so welcoming but watch how they treat other Black Africans, you will see you are nothing to many.
I have never hated colorism so much until I moved to Ghana, the calling and insisting that Black Americans are white people is disgusting. Being called white by Ghanaians was an everyday issue. I am not talking about in their native languages, I am talking about how in English several Ghanaians wanted to "teach"me that my light skin made me white.
That is not how this works, who cares how they look at race you are not going to place an ancestor of the enslaved, that your ancestors sold into slavery as being white. Not to mention they have the stupity to use terms like 'darky and blacky' towards darker Ghanaians, make no sense as most of the population are darker in skin color.
The romance scamming is insane in Ghana, men having wives via customery marriage is something that Black America would never know or understand before traveling to an African country. Ghanaians often proclaim they're going to protect you from scammers, all along they're going to scam from you.
So many Black women especially have fallen for this, one woman who lost over $80,000 USD to a romance scam said her boyfriend tpld her that she couldn't go out and see others without his permission. She is in her mid 60's and he was in his 20's. She thought nothing was wrong with this and still thinks that a man should mot allow you to speak to others outside of him even women.
Also Ghana have 3 conflict areas where hundreds of people have died, there are videos and photos of the Ghana Army beating 175 men. The Ghana police are corrupted, there are several posts on social media about them requesting money from Ghanaians and foreigners.
The Ghana police are also seen in a recent 2024 video beating several men, the news in Ghana dies down, therefore so does the outcry and concern. Ghanaians are very complacent, justice and order is not something that Ghana is known for.
Not to mention crime is on the rise in Ghana, highway robberies which the Ghana military try to stop but they often never make it to the news. Over 80% of the Ghana news outlets are run by Ghana political leaders so you won't get much truth from them.
Also Sierra Leone is the most peaceful country in West Africa, that would be a better country to visit as well instead of Ghana.

This is unfortunate! I’m a Ghanaian, I live here in Ghana, and I’m sorry to tell you - you are absolutely wrong about your assertions. There is crime in every country. But don’t blow what’s happening in my country out of proportion. Negative news sell - hence I’m not surprised you found videos to back your assertion. There is more crime in most developed countries. You all intelligently cover them up and yet want to brand developing countries worse at crime. It’s not fair! You can do better- this sucks. Do your research again! Ghana is the most peaceful country in Africa.
Thank you for the information...and for tearing Mr. Harvey a new one!
