Fun Times at Globe Life Field: Part 2

Last month, I took a trip to my hometown of Arlington, Texas. It was the first time in nearly 15 years I've been back to the place that I grew up. During the two days I was there, I did some sight-seeing and was highly impressed with how much has changed the last time I was there, which was 2011. On the last day of my trip, I took part in a premium stadium tour at Globe Life Field, the home of the Texas Rangers. It was my first time there and was with a small group of people on the tour. I've discussed the things I've seen during the hour and a half tour in my previous story, which you can read down below. After the tour concluded, I went outside and took even more snapshots. I'll go over some of the images, individually and in collage form.

This statue displays Neftalí Feliz and Bengie Molina celebrating the Rangers winning the American League pennant in 2010, heading to their first World Series. If you're not familiar of who Bengie Molina was, he's the brother of two-time World Series champion Yadier Molina, who won both titles with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006 and 2011.

Unveiled in August 2025 at Globe Life Field, a statue of former Ranger and Hall of Famer Adrián Beltré was seen by fans. And yes, Beltré was in attendance for the statue unveiling.

This section of Globe Life Field displayed the plaques of former Rangers players and other notable people who contributed greatly to the organization. These are just some of the pictures I took and aren't all of them. I do apologize for the images of the plaques being small, but if you'd like to enlarge your page to see the images better, feel free to do that. Some of the images may be difficult to see, but I chose the best way to show these pictures for this collage. One thing I found strange about Nolan Ryan's plaque was it had zero mention of him winning a World Series title with the New York Mets in 1969. That fact is also missing from his Baseball Hall of Fame plaque. Chuck Morgan, the Rangers Public Address announcer has been with the organization since April 1983. During his four-decades plus career, he has announced over 3,000 games. Finally, let's give kudos to former Rangers broadcaster Mark Holtz, who held that role from 1982-1997. He was responsible for coining the phrase, "Hello Win Column!" anytime the Rangers win. His plaque isn't shown in the collage, but he deserves to be acknowledged.

Finally, let's talk about the late Tom Vandergriff. He was the Mayor of Arlington for nearly 30 years, a businessman, and politician. After his December 2010 passing, Vandergriff's lasting legacy in the Dallas-Fort Worth area still lives on. Dubbed 'The Father of Baseball in Arlington" and "Mr. Arlington", Vandergriff worked tirelessly to bring a Major League Baseball team to the city. The team we know today as the Texas Rangers debuted in Arlington in the Spring of 1972. Vandergriff was inducted to the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame in July 2004. If it weren't for his persistence of brining baseball to the now vibrant city, the Rangers wouldn't exist today. A statue (shown above) now stands in front of Globe Life Field. Visiting Globe Life Field was an amazing experience and I would encourage everyone to schedule a tour of the ballpark if you're planning on heading to Arlington. There is a plethora of items to see, and it'll be worth your time. Until the next story, Go Rangers!
