Everest base Camp Trek

The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the best trek in Nepal and is also one of the popular trek in the world. Place yourself in history by hiking along the same path that Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay walked as they made their famous ascent to the summit of Mount Everest (8848 meters / 29,029 feet). The trek is sure to wear you out, but the tiresome feeling is temporary. The sense of achievement that you feel when you reach base camp lasts forever.

On the Everest Base Camp Trek, each day brings a new level of adventure and a completely new mountain perspective. From the very first day, the excitement begins. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (via the most dangerous airport in the world – Tenzing-Hillary Airport) is quite the thrill. Breathe in the clean air as you make your way towards Namche Bazaar. Just before reaching this trekker hub, your heart rate rises as you catch your first glimpse of Mount Everest.

Before you know it, the time comes to ascend to Everest Base Camp (5380 meters). Admire the famous Khumbu Icefall and panoramic Mountain View. Though, the best view is yet to come. The following day, we hike even further up to Kala Patthar (5545 meters). From this tip top point, you have what is considered the best viewpoint of Mount Everest in the entire Himalaya. Throughout the trek, you will also get amazing views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Makalu, and many more soaring peaks.

Of course the mountain views of the Everest region are out of this world and they are the main reason why people visit the area. However, the Everest region would not be what it is today without Sherpas. The Solu-Khumbu region is home to this ethnic group – Buddhists that migrated from the Tibetan plateau in the 15th century. They are known not only for their unprecedented climbing abilities, but also for their genuine hospitality. Take the Everest Base Camp Trek for the mountain views, and become captivated by the delightful Sherpa people.

Ask us about any special happenings during the year in the Khumbu region to add some more excitement to the journey. For example, the festival Mani Rimdu is takes place at Tengboche Monastery during the 9th month of the Tibetan calendar, which usually in October or November during the full moon. We can arrange for you to be there during this time.

You do not need anything mountaineering experience, nor do you need any background in tent camping to give this once in a lifetime trek a chance. All you need is strong self-confidence and willpower to make it to the top. You do not need a certain level of fitness to finish. All you need is a slow and steady pace, which our itinerary allows for.

You can take the Everest Base Camp Trek all throughout the year. The best times to make the trip, though, are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These seasons provide the best weather and clearest skies, not to mention that during the springtime, rhododendron and other alpine flowers are in bloom. Third Eye Adventure Pvt. Ltd. handles the trek with complete management. If you have any questions about the trek, do ask!
