Planning a new getaway after the lockdown, confused about your options, can I have the honor of influencing your choice?
Top of my list is Badagary, this is a coastal town characterized by its signature coconut trees in Lagos state. It is located between the city of Lagos and the border town of Seme of Benin republic. Badagary boasts of many tourist centers with deep and intriguing cultural heritage, especially the history of the slave trade era, to mention a few, the first story building in Nigeria, first well in Nigeria, the point of no return, and so on.
This is a detailed way of enjoying A 3 day trip to Badagary.
WHERE TO STAY
Badagry boast of nice hotels and resort, most of this resort will give you a premium experience, top of my recommendation is the whispering palm, the hotel is located off the Lagos Babdagry expressway. The resort can be accessed by road and sea, my recommendation is the sea. This gives you the first trill of going on a getaway, the boat cruise put you in the mood, the boat ride can be arranged by the resort. The room rate is between 52 dollars to 102 dollars per night.
The resort boast of interesting activities, this includes a boat ride, bicycle ride, team bonding for those visiting as a team. Did I mention there is a mini zoo at the resort? Even though they don't have a lion, there are monkeys, crocodiles, donkeys to mention a few. If you are lucky you can get a ride from the donkey if it's in a good mood, if not please stay away or get kicked.
Also at the resort is the heritage museum, It displays slave monuments to depicts life during the slave trade era, in addition, the museum tells a chilling story of the slave trade (for detailed experience Visit the Badagary heritage museum). displayed at the museum are heavy chains used during the darkest part of our history.
