The Christuskirche the German Lutheran Church is built of sandstone. It dates back to 1910. It is animpressive looking church standing in the middle of a roundabout.

Opposite the church is the Independence Memorial Museum house in a building tht was funded and constructed by North Korea as a gift to Namibia. Here visitors can find the out about the history of the country. In front of the building is a statue of the first president of Namibia from 1990 Sam Nujoma.

On top of the museum is a bar called Balcony of Love with three large balconies offering awesome views of the city.

The National Museum of Namibia has display about the rich heritage of the country. The museum has a collection of artifacts, art, and exhibits that celebrate Namibia’s diverse history. There are displays that are focused on traditional crafts, ancient tools, and indigenous cultures. The museum occasionally hosts special events that highlight various aspects of Namibian culture, such as dance performances or craft workshops.

Alte Feste is a low-rise colonial building that was once home to the National Museum of Namibia. It is the oldest standing building in the city. At present it is temporarily closed. Outside is a statue of a German Corporal on a horse that reminds of the German oppression known as Reiterdenkmal.

Tintenpalast is the Namibian parliament building. Its name means Ink Palace. It is the place of government in the country.

The Parliament Gardens surround the National Assembly, featuring lush greenery and carefully manicured landscapes. A guided tour of the gardens offers insight into Namibian governance and its historical significance.

The National Art Gallery of Namibia showcases a diverse collection of contemporary and historical art that reflects the country’s rich heritage. The exhibits feature works from Namibian artists and those from around the continent. You can enjoy paintings, sculptures, and textiles. The rotating exhibits often highlight specific themes or artists, providing fresh perspectives and experiences with each visit. The gallery also hosts workshops and events that engage the community and promote the arts.

Windhoek City Park is a popular place to take walks, enjoy the outdoors, and have picnics. There are lush green lawns and well-kept pathways. There is a playground for children to enjoy.

Old Magistrates' Court was built in 1898 but never put into service as a court and is now the Namibian Conservatory.

The Zoo Park is a green oasis that is great for strolling, picnics, and enjoying nature. There are plenty of trees, plants, and flowers. Visitors can wander along the paths through the gardens. The park also features a small animal enclosure. You can see various animals, including birds and small mammals.

The Voigland Guesthouse located about 30 km from Windhoek is an amazing place to see. You can feed giraffes while you having breakfst, lunch, or high tea. However, spaces are limite to eight visitors daily. If you prefer you can stay here overnight with five guest room available. Guests enjoy mountain biking, hiking, ATV riding, and a big pool with a view of the mountains and giraffes.

The Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary is a 35 mile drive outside of the city. It became a popular tourist attraction after Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie chose to become partners of the Naankuse Foundation. There are accommodations at the Naankuse Lodge with carnivore feeding included in the price.

Daan Viljoen Game Park is a lovely wildlife park in the Khomas Hochland 18 km west of Windhoek. There are desert hills you can hike and see wildlife such as gemsboks, kudus, mountain zebras, springboks, hartebeests, warthogs and elands.

The park is also known for its birdlife with over 200 species among them the rare green-backed heron and pin-tailed whydah. There are three hiking tracks and an on-site lodge for accommodations.

The Christuskirche sounds cool. Reminds me of some old European buildings I've seen. The museums and galleries seem like great ways to learn about Namibia's history.
