Budget Travel in Croatia: Tips and Tricks

Budget Travel in Croatia

By Noren JacksonPublished 6 months ago 2 min read

Croatia can be absolutely breathtaking, but its beauty has gone mainstream as a result of which prices are soaring and in peak season, it may not be so pleasant after all. That need not discourage your visions of sapphire seas and old cities! It is definitely possible to have a pleasant and cheap Croatia on a budget, well beyond what any standard Croatia Tour Packages can poise.

These are some advice and hacks about a cheap trip:

Timing is Everything: the month of July and August to be avoided! The May-June period and the September-early October seasons provide great weather conditions, fewer visitors, and extremely lower prices of accommodation and events. Winter travelling: this seasons features some of the best offers, but there will be less people along the coast.

Hacks on Accommodation: Avoid going into hotels in the best locations. Search sobe (use of rooms in ones own home), Airbnb in the outskirts of cities or even camping for the adventurous types. Without any platforms, it is possible to save fees by booking directly with their owners. Think of staying longer in a place in case of discounts offered.

Eat Like a Local: No Tourist Dan Region! Visit local markets and get fresh items to cook some of your meals in case you rent a room with a kitchenette. Visit konobas (traditional taverns) or bakery to find some tasty and cheap snacks such as burek. Take a refillable bottle because tap water can be drunk.

Intelligent Transport: Croatia has a fantastic and cheap bus system that warrants connections of big cities and towns e.g. sometimes better than taking the train or hiring a car, even with petrol and vignette costs. To take part in the island hopping, it is advisable to use the Jadrolinija slower, yet far more affordable ferries as opposed to fast catamarans. Walk in cities!

Free Fun: Croatia is a place of amazing nature. Relax on free beaches, scramble along the coastlines or just walk through lovely old towns. In numerous cities, there are free walking tours (which I recommend you to tip your guide!), and public parks and promenade: just visit them to have fun without spending a penny. Check the free days in museums.

Avoid the Extremes: world-famous Dubrovnik will cost you a fortune. Split or Zadar or even small towns by the coast are a good idea to be formed and take day trips to popular spots. Do not take expensive individual tours on boats; a local ferry or group tour will be so much cheaper.

Conclusion:

With these measures, you can follow your dream Croatia Holiday Packages without straining your pocket by simply sitting back and immersing yourself in the sun, culture, and history.
