I've been thinking recently about living my life and all the things I want to accomplish. Then again, sometimes I wonder if it is more practical to live in the present. Having a bucket list makes me live in the future and not be in the here and now. However, if it is really about living what's the harm? At first, I thought starting at bucket list would make me more stressed, seeing things that I want to accomplish and feeling like a failure. However, I have learned that I am missing something, and I am not 100% happy. So, here we go, in now particular order, my bucket list.
1) Ride in a hot air balloon. Now this one is kind of funny since I am terrified of heights. However, I think the view would be absolutely worth it. Plus, there is nothing better than concurring a fear, especially if it was with someone important to me.
2) Go see Daughtery in concert. I love this band and they are one of the few bands that I would pay a lot of money for to have a good seat.
3) Set off paper lanterns in the sky. This sounds so romantic and I have heard that the events are spectacular.
4) Write, edit, and publish a short story/novel. I have always been passionate about writing and while I write frequently, I have never gotten the courage to show anyone my work.
5) Road trip all the states. I want to travel to all 50 states and a good road trip is always fun. The country is full of beautiful places that I have only seen from a post card. I would love to see all the beautiful places in person.
6) Travel. This one is super broad and goes with number 5. I have never been out of the country and eventually I want to venture out and experience other cultures. One of the places I want to visit is New Zealand. Not only are the landscapes breathtaking, but they have Lord of the Rings tours and it would satisfy my inner nerd.
7) Re learn how to play the guitar. I used to play the guitar in high school and I was not too bad. Hopefully with more practice I can learn to play more songs.
8) Get a tattoo. This one comes on and off the list about several times a month. As of now, it's on the list because of the recent passing of my dog. I never had a strong enough connection with something to justify getting a tattoo. While I do not think I have to justify my behaviors, getting a tattoo for my dog would be meaningful and she would always be with me.
9) Ride a horse on the beach. This sounds super romantic and I hope one day I find someone to share the experience with.
10) Get into photography has a hobby. I want to buy an expensive camera and start keeping memories and shooting beautiful landscapes.
11) See the Northern Lights. Once again this falls under travel, but the experience would be better than a postal card.
12) Learn a new language. I took Spanish in middle school, but once it was no longer required to graduate, I dropped the class. While Spanish seems like the practical language, especially living in Arizona, learning French would be cool.
13) Take a cooking class. I want to learn how to cook other good other than what I already cook on a regular basis.
14) Swim under a waterfall. Once again this sounds super romantic and the view would be gorgeous.
15) Learn how to drive a stick shift. Learning this skill could come in handy one of these days.
16) Go wine tasting. I love wine and would love to learn about the different kinds of wine. The wineries in California would be cool, but I would also like to try the wineries in Tuscany
17) Go stargazing in desert. This one should be easy since I live in the desert. However, finding the right person to go with and the best spot is the tricky part. I need to find someone who won't be scared because I know I will be.
