Tanzania is a country that is so much blessed with so many places having a lot of wild animals that are a real nature’s wonders to most people. In Tanzania and on these destinations, some are the home for the great migration, some places are beautiful places with endless plains filled with different animals, places where lions are lying in the sun freely, and groups of elephants are walking freely across the land. 1. Serengeti National Park.

The Serengeti is one of the Tanzania’s most famous park and we can simply say it is one of the icon of Tanzania. Serengeti comes from the Maasai word “Serengit” which means an endless plain. This Serengeti National park is a plain that is so beautiful and stretches endlessly and here, the area is filled with a lot of wild animals. Serengeti is the only place in the world where you will find the famous Great Wildebeest Migration. Great Wildebeest migration is a moving of animals, especially wildebeest and zebras from places to place. Over 1.5 million wildebeests are moving to over 800 km, passing through rivers full of crocodiles and plains filled with predators following the rain pattern.

Serengeti is also the home of other animals and birds. Here in Serengeti, you will find a rich amount of animals that one can possibly see. Animals like Lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes are found from every corner of the Serengeti.

2. Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro crater is one of the natural wonder of its own class. This is a massive crater of 2,000 feet deep and 20 kilometers wide, and it is filled with animals. Ngorongoro Conservation Area, due to its uniqueness, has earned itself, a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The Ngorongoro crater is like a natural amphitheater that is filled with predators and preys. You can go and see upclose wild animals like the endangered black rhinos grazing, male lions patrolling their areas of their territories, and flamingos with their pink color making the lakes look more beautiful.

What makes it extra special? The Ngorongoro crater has a high concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five (lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffaloes), along with other species like wildebeests, zebras, and many bird species. It one of the place where you can see all the big five in a span of a single day.

3. Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire is also one of Tanzania’s famous and beautiful destinations. This is an area in Tanzania where you will see large groups of of elephants walking freely along ancient baobab trees and lions lying in grass.

If you visit in the dry season, you will see a lot of animals gather around the Tarangire River looking for water. The place is filed and famous for having a lot large baobab trees and herds of elephants.

4. Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara may look small to many people, but it is full of hidden wonders once you find a tour operator to show all these wonders. Lake Manyara is famous for the tree climbing lions and having the thousands of pink flamingos that flock to the shores of Lake Manyara.

Going to Lake Manyara, you will drive through forests, grasslands, and wetlands, all in one afternoon. Here in Lake Manyara, you will watch baboons in groups, elephants walking arounf, and hippos comfortably swimming in the lake.

5. Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere National Park).

If you want to have safari to the wilderness without the crowds, then go to Selous Game Reserve in southern Tanzania. Selous Game Reserve is much large, and if it is to compare to a country, Selous Game Reserve is larger than the country of Switzerland.

Here, you can take boat safaris along the Rufiji River, you will track wild dogs on game drives, and will see hippos and crocodiles from the water’s edge.
