Adventuring Done by the Jurgys
This family proves that adventure is out there and close by.
There are people who take action in seizing what life and the world have to offer and those who only think of that idea. Amongst the middle ground resides the traveling Internet influencers known as the Jurgys. Married couple Bryce and Nellie Jurgy (and now their daughter, Avalyn) travel to different places in the country and world to explore the possibilities they have to offer on their never-ending journey to encourage others to go out and make adventures of their own. From driving a tank in Minnesota to doing yoga in the midst of a traffic jam in winter to riding a hot air balloon in Paris or even bracing an event called "Slide the City," they do whatever it takes to help motivate potential explorers and adventurers.
After going through a cancer scare a few years back (both of them are fine, by the way), the pair decided it would be a good idea to not only go out and embrace life's gifts, but encourage others to do the same. One of the methods they use to encourage others to explore is by leaving treasures (tickets to an event, equipment for exploring, coupon codes to purchase said equipment, etc.) wherever they explore. In a decent amount of cases, it's required that whoever finds the treasure not only has to confirm that they found it, but send pictures or videos of the environment they are in as they are on the treasure hunt so that the journey is proven.
As of recent, The Jurgys have moved into an RV and have been going on a journey to travel through all 50 states. They have been filming for their social media and for a documentary of their journey. Even in circumstances where there wasn't really a lot to do in certain areas, they still managed to find at least one activity to occupy their time. Case in point, bowling on a street in North Dakota and the earlier example with doing yoga while stuck in traffic. And they aren't careless on their journey, either. Since Bryce and Nellie have their daughter, Avalyn, with them, they have their task of keeping her safe as they introduce her to new experiences during their journey, such as seeing bears in Alaska and going through an Italian-style boat ride in Rhode Island. The mixture of nature, nurture, and nature from nurture has been shown to be valuable in their goal of raising Avalyn to venture her way through life.
Even though they are dedicated to adventuring, they also show that they are still human and can still feel uneasiness. Case in point, in their video blog that included them going to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, they decided to try some activities that scare them, which will explain why they did mountain biking while staying at Four Seasons (it was Nellie's first time doing it, but not Bryce's). Also, they clearly showed their worries when they were in Hawaii during the incident where a missile strike alert was texted to everyone as an actual warning instead of a drill. Case in point, they aren't afraid to show that they aren't bold all the time.
As well as adventuring, they also find time to do some good for the community, such as helping different families and organizations in need during the Christmas season while on the route from North Carolina to California. Another example of them helping different communities is a moment in April of 2016 where they filled their van with Astroturf and other essentials (as well as puppies), and pulled up to a school. What's the reason behind it? It was close to finals for the students there, and playing with the puppies served as a stress reliever.
Anyone who knows the Jurgys, watched their content, or has seen their actions in person would tell you that I'm only scratching the surface when it comes to describing why it's a good idea to look into them and what they do. If you really want inspiration to get out there more and a source that's down-to-earth, then they are the kind of peeps to look into.
