Reviewing the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble Match (and My Hopes for Future Events)
Amazing, isn't it? Once upon a time, the concept of a Women's Royal Rumble match sounded impossible, like a pipe dream, like a fantasy. Here it is, the first day of February 2025, and it is Year Eight of the Women's Royal Rumble Match. The whole thing started with the 2018 event; Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch were the first ever entrants, and the first winner was Asuka. We've seen a lot of wild moments since then, and some emotional surprise entrants as well. I still carry all of the heartfelt emotion from three years ago when Melina finally made her first Women's Rumble appearance in 2022.

The Symbolism of Medusa- A Deeper Look at Purity Culture and Patriarchal Norms
Despite being one of Greek mythology's most infamous monsters, Medusa's story has always been unique. As one of the fiercest predators in the genre, she might have survived the storms of time. However, the story can be interpreted through a feminist lens. Medusa was more of the prey than the predator. As a follower of the goddess Athena, Medusa made a vow to live chastely, but when Poseidon sexually assaulted her in the temple, that plan fell apart. To put it briefly, the goddess of war did not find the Greek god Poseidon's seduction of a lovely young woman in Athena's temple endearing. Another version tells a darker story in which the god of the sea pursues the innocent woman violently against her will. She rushes across Athens, desperate to get away from her conqueror.

A Look at the Final Four in the Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament
One of the best moments in WWE in 2024 was the long overdue announcement of midcard titles for their women's division. We were introduced to the Women's United States and Intercontinental Championships, and we are a few weeks removed from the crowning of the first ever Women's United States Champion in Chelsea Green. We are also closing in on the final steps of crowning the first ever Women's Intercontinental Champion, as the tournament, which started on December 2, is now down to the Final Four.

All Elite Virtuosa: Reviewing Deonna Purrazzo's Official AEW Debut
First off, I want to say, "It's been five years already?!" It seems like yesterday that this, All Elite Wrestling, was a pipe dream, but it's been around for five years now. This past Monday marked the fifth anniversary of the birth of AEW, which came on midnight on January 1, 2019. After airing only pay-per-views, AEW's flagship show, Dynamite, hit network television on October 2, 2019, and in the time that has passed, we've seen AEW make their mark during the first few months, thrive during a worldwide pandemic, and stay strong as the lead counterpart to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Stating the Obvious: WWE Doesn't Respect Women's Wrestling
You know, I wasn't intending on writing about this. I was intent on just venting about this privately to fellow wrestling fans and letting it go. However, with the Royal Rumble closing in, and the more I think about this, it just makes me angrier and angrier. So the latest edition of Raw was their 30th anniversary special, which was titled, Raw is XXX. Now, when Raw is a big, special, celebratory episode, I look forward to it, because of so many big things happening. The thing I get excited for the most is, of course, the women's wrestling alums. Take 2019's Raw Reunion for example. Now, I did read some criticism against the show, but I was happy with it because of the female legends who appeared: WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze, and former champions Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle, and Melina (my all time favorite).

Reviewing Charlotte Flair's Return on SmackDown
I spent weeks looking forward to the final SmackDown of 2022, and the reason can be summed up in two words: John Cena. It was announced earlier this month that Cena would return on the aforementioned edition of SmackDown, and it was two weeks prior that Cena stated that he would do so as Kevin Owens' partner against Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, which (of course) would serve as the show's main event (as well as WWE's final televised match of 2022).

Reviewing Vanessa Aspillaga's Pair of Cold-Blooded Villainesses
When I started watching Hulu's Only Murders in the Building on the day it premiered, I was elated to see (among other actors) Vanessa Aspillaga on the series. Aspillaga plays Ursula, the manager of the Arconia building, on the show, having appeared in nine episodes so far. The reason why I was so happy to see Aspillaga on the show is simple: I had seen her play a pair of very captivating villainesses on other shows. Reviewing the Conclusion of the Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament
Nearly one month to the day after WWE crowned their first-ever Women's United States Champion, we saw history made on Raw regarding the Women's Intercontinental Championship. Similar to SmackDown's new title, the road to this historic moment saw a dozen women vying to be the one who made history. The Quarterfinals were all Triple Threat Matches that took place for four straight Raws in December. The Semifinals took place on the final Raw in 2024, setting up a Final between two immensely over and popular women: Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria.
