The Unspoken War Between Women
Note: There are women who believe and engage in bigotry - this post is not about them. That behavior is inexcusable. There are times when, despite our shared suffrage and sisterhood, those women need to be held accountable. Furthermore, it does not excuse the harm that has been caused by "pick me" behavior and decisions. The goal of this post is simply to raise awareness in the different ways that, despite our attempts to further gender equality, women are pinned against each other.

March is Women's History Month
March is one of my favorite months of the year. Blame it on my Irish roots. It typically signifies a turning point to spring. I love the color green. And like Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day is just another way for us to infuse a little joy into our lives. But the best part of all? It’s Women’s History Month.

A Woman is a Woman…
Being a woman is not all about dresses, dolls, and hair bows. There are so many different classifications of women in this day and age; it is no longer about femininity whatsoever. Hell, it is no longer about gender identification either. Just because a woman was ‘assigned female’ at birth does not mean that is the body she will be growing into. It is a tangled web we all weave.

In creepy surroundings full of fear and panic due to a magnitude earthquake, occurred on February 6/2023, brought down many buildings in southern turkey near the northern border of Syria, trapping residents and sending others fleeing into the streets, while crushed people under buildings screamed for the help of rescue teams to get them out of the prison of ruins and mounds of debris to the freedom of life, there was a Muslim Turkish woman survivor who was trapped under the rubble in the city of Gaziantep refused to step out from under it and go to her freedom without her Islamic Hijab. She asked the rescue team to give her one. Check out the video showed here.

Recreational Feminism
Feminist discourse is increasingly easy to get involved in. Due to the rise of social media and the internet, anyone can have their say from anywhere. I could be taken as an example of this: sitting in my bedroom, typing away about my opinions on everything. Myself, along with many other teenagers, have found feminist discourse to be interwoven with every type of media- most prominently on TikTok. I know I have a tendency to relate many cultural phenomena back to this app, but (especially for teenagers) the impact it has had on many aspects of life cannot be underestimated.

To all the women who read this...
With years to live, we find cure. We manage to look away from the fear that haunts our soul, our hearts and questions our decisions. We keep living in denial. We keep loving in hope. We keep going with our duties to be and sometimes not to be. No one stops us from pretending and no one asks if we are okay. But, we are better than you, in many ways than just one. Along with the care we give, we also share with you a portion of trust and faith. The responsibilities are plenty, no matter how calm we may seem, it’s probably the ‘dramatic’ version of us that knows how to keep it all well in control for you to live in peace. We are the women who support you, guide you and inspire you to build a world of patience, peace and purpose.

Do not forget the women who rebelled
Iran has a long and painful history of protests. Election fraud, economic struggles, and civil liberties have all sparked revolts over the years. However, the most recent movement represents something unprecedented. A revolution led by women, supported by men, and deeply rooted in a demand for fundamental human rights.
