Still Vulnerable
Every woman is a potential victim of violence. We like to think we are equal, but the chances of being the recipient of a beating, rape, or murder are surprisingly high. Every nine seconds, a woman is beaten in America. One in three women have been attacked by an intimate partner. Native American females have a 50 percent higher rate than any other race. These statistics are from 2017, and they are frightening. A full 18 percent involve threats with a weapon, which raises the possibility of a homicide by 500 percent. Intimate partner violence is the leading cause of female homicides. Where there are children in the home, the kids face a 15 percent higher risk of physical abuse than the national average.

Equal Work for Equal Pay 2018
Women earn 80 cents for every man’s $1.00. This is still true in 2018. We are 200 years away from pay equality here. When women start complaining more about the pay gap is when we find that it can equalize. This is constant discrimination that women face daily in the workplace. When I started working, I became very aware of this discriminatory process. Pay disparity is everywhere around us, dependent on what career a person is working in. Women like E! News host Cat Sadler are becoming more aware of this gap every day because she left the network due to a pay gap she noticed between herself and her male co-host.

Folic Acid Supplementation Tied to Health Risks for Women and Their Babies
More and more studies are showing alarming health risks for women and their babies as a result of synthetic folic acid supplements and fortification of foods. While folates have long been known to be crucial for healthy fetal development, the synthetic version of folate, folic acid, has been linked to increased risk of asthma for infants and double the risk of breast cancer for mothers, among other risks.
