Earning My Red Badge of Courage
Believe it or not, the picture above is on the property of a hospital. It's actually really pretty, and hundreds of people could enjoy the beauty of the river from their hospital rooms. In fact, it was my father's view. Obviously, a view doesn't make a hospital visit any better, but it can provide a bit a beauty and comfort. I just wish that's how I could've remembered my first trip.

Keeping My Legs Closed for Jesus
At one point in my life, I was a church member… one of those “good girl” church members. I was one of those good girls who went to church and strived/tried to be wholesome and pure. I can remember my grandmother (who was one of the saintly church Mother’s) saying to me, “Good church girls keep their legs closed.” When I heard this, I didn’t really understand just why I needed to, “keep my legs closed,” but as I got older, it became more apparent to me that it meant a variety of things… and they all centered around my pussy (OOPS!), I mean vagina.

Standing Up for Your Choices
Standing up to disapproving family members to defend your relationship choices isn’t easy, but women have been standing up for what they want for hundreds of years — even in China in 170 CE. During the Eastern Han dynasty, a young woman known as Lady Wu did just that.

How to Build Up Your Confidence
We've all been there. "This dress makes me look fat," "this skirt makes me look like I'm seeking attention," etc. We are all ruled by social norms and by the "what will they think of me?" stigma. I think it's time we change all that. I've always been insecure (I made a post about my EDs already if you want to check it out). Always preoccupied with my body because I thought that my physical appearance is all that matters and that nobody pays attention to your inner self.

The Life I Lived Before You (Chapter 2)
Chapter 2 Family Meet-up A couple days after she had taken the pregnancy test her dad ended up finding it behind the toilet when he washed himself off. He put it in the way back in his sock drawer as a trophy because his plan had finally come into play. He had lightened up on the abuse and it appears because she was pregnant that he had maybe fallen in love with her. It wasn’t painful for her and she could now feel the passion while they made love. She and her father had talked it out and knew they lies that they would say to her mother. He had taken her to two doctors’ appointments and she took her prenatal regularly in front of her father to make him happy.

It's a Monthly Thing... Sorry, Not Sorry!
It's a natural monthly occurring phenomenon that happens to most women, if not all women, at some point in their lives. It's the thing that we hate the most because of the riving agony, the cramps, the food cravings, the huge spots that decide to stick out like a sore thumb and the unpleasantness that goes on down stairs that no one wishes to discuss. Thus, this usually lands us in bed with a hot water bottle for a minimum of three days.

10 Companies That Donate to Planned Parenthood
Ladies and gents, women's right are under attack. People are scared, and nowhere is this clearer than when you take a look at the way that officials are trying to reduce the funding that Planned Parenthood receives. (The fact that people are wondering if the government should fund Planned Parenthood is scary, isn't it?)

It Must Be Nice
It must be nice... It must be nice to be able to stay awake as long as you want playing video games while your significant other is listening for the baby hoping to get a little rest, after being up until 6 AM taking care of the same baby that you helped create. It must be nice to sleep the whole night knowing if your child makes the slightest little fuss your significant other will be right there to attend to the baby's needs while you sleep through the night. It must be nice to nap whenever you want, whether someone needs your help or not.

Struggles of a Chronic Dieter: Shopping Edition
I hate shopping for clothes. I do not know any woman who does. We may put on a brave face for our friends—lie through our teeth when we say how much we love shopping—but as soon as we are by ourselves in that dressing room, the reality hits. We usually have a pile of clothes that are just the same pieces in three different sizes. Because even if you know what size you are, you never really do. It changes from store to store and even in the same store, you could be two different sizes depending on what cut of pants and shirt you have picked up.

Feeling Myself (Becoming a Hot Mess)
This week I decided to work on trying to look 'cute' more. I am single, after all, and apparently running shorts and tee shirts isn't the best way to "people", or make a first impression. This weekend I did a (what felt like 4000 square ft.) house for a friend of mine, and worked on the yard, which equates to about three grueling gym sessions, so it seemed like the perfect time to do it. You know, because working out once makes you look hot and I technically worked out three times. This is what happened.
