Last Night I Saw My Rapist's Name on Facebook
Facebook is something we use to stay connected with one another. Something we use to see the experiences we have and share. Something some rely on to keep occupied in the bathroom. We play games, like photos, share opinions, laugh at the cute and funny dog videos, scroll through current news and happenings around the world, and my personal favourite, look back on our memories.

Something I Feel Strongly About
Despite the right sort of movement towards equality & progressive attitudes toward stereotypes and systems that oppress people on a daily basis- it is still hard for a woman to be taken seriously as a player in the world of both work and play! Now my piece today is not tainted in aggressive feminism because that can be just as damaging as patriarchal and Misogynist underpinnings in society. What I am looking at is the idea of women empowering other women.

Feeling Confident in Yourself Is Important
The power of confidence. Confidence is a big thing in the society we have today. Not feeling confident in yourself or who you are as a person can make you waste your whole life worrying. Life is short and let me tell you, it's to short to waste worrying on things like that. In today's society, women are put out to be flawless, glowing skin, no acne, big boobs, flat stomach, small waist, thigh gaps, and a nice ass. No normal woman in this entire world has every single one of those things. The women you see out here on the magazines—it's all fake. They are photoshopped into being flawless, made with no mistakes, and it puts out a bad vibe for the women who see these types of things.

More Than We Were Taught...
Where do I even begin? I am 11 weeks pregnant, so I am ever so slightly chunkier compared to three months ago because I am doing all I possibly can to ensure my little raspberry has everything it needs to grow to be full of nutrients. Off I went to my midwife appointment, pure elation as I start my journey to meet a tiny, little me. All was well for the first 15/20 minutes, and then, these three letters 'BMI' caused my heart to sink, and question the entire health care system.

10 Toys That Encourage Girls to Be in STEM
Marie Curie might be one of the most famous female scientists of all time, but that doesn't mean she's the only one. Many women have found a lifetime of joy through a career in science. Unfortunately, they seem to be an exception to the rule.

Skinny Shaming Hurts Just As Much
In the new age of 2018, we are surrounded by technology, good ol' constant reminder of freedom of speech, and most of all, judgement. While we have conquered some very judgmental things (like bashing on men who like makeup), we aren't even close to being done, yet.

Why I Got My IUD at 16
The adventure began my freshman year of high school. It was second semester, and I had been charmed by a particular boy in the grade above me. He was cute, played baseball, and captured my attention. He was everything my younger self had wished for, a perfect and popular boyfriend. He was the kind of guy I had wished for ever since middle school when I dreamed of one day becoming a “popular girl” with the hot sporty boyfriend at my side.

Fear of Fat
Cosmopolitan UK magazine featured Tess Holliday on their October 2018 cover. Tess is a plus-size model and one of the first ever featured in a magazine with the level of notoriety as Cosmo UK. She is a UK size 26/US size 28. To add to the unusual feature, Tess is not wearing a modest dress, but a green bodysuit. Her arms, legs, and the shape of her stomach are exposed for the world to see. She is portrayed as strong and proud of her body. The backlash was quick and intense.

The Top 10 Most Female-Friendly Countries in the World
Why must women go out and fight for rights and opportunities that are just handed to men? The freedoms that women are given depend on how female-friendly their country is. As times become more progressive, many countries seem to be narrowing the gender gap by reforming policies in order to create a society that is more inclusive of women. It is vital to the continuance of spreading feminism around the world. The global gender gap report measures gender equality using four main principles: economic participation, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. Nordic countries seemed to have figured out that, in order to have a thriving and stable economy, women and men must have equal rights. In contrast, women in countries like Saudi Arabia are discriminated against, and have minimal basic rights, having just gained the right to drive. Even in female-friendly countries where women have made significant progress, there is still much work to be done in order to completely close the gender gap.
