Most folks in the continental United States believe that summer ends after Labor Day. For those who are in other countries, Labor Day is a holiday that we in the USA, celebrate on the first Monday of September. The official last day of summer in the United States is September 22. No matter how low the temperature may be in your location, it's still summer. As of when this was written, September 4, the weather map on the National Weather Service is 71 degrees and up in an overwhelming majority of the nation. With all that being said, let us continue our celebration of the best in body positivity and excellence in achievement for women.

Deisi Teixeira

University of Miami's Deisi Teixeira is a native of Presidente Prudente, San Paulo, Brazil. She earned First Team All-America honors after recording a top eight finish in the javelin throw at the NCAA Championships. She also took the gold medal in the ACC in the event as well. In 2023 she competed for UNLV where she won the Mountain West Conference gold. In 2021, Teixeira was the junior college javelin throw national champion while she was with Barton County Community College.

Jalani Davis

Ole Miss' Jalani Davis is one of the most accomplished collegiate throwers of the decade. She closed her collegiate career this year with a bronze medal in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She also claimed a shot put silver medal and a bronze in the hammer throw at the SEC outdoor meet. Davis has won each of the last two weight throw gold medals at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The Hampton, Virginia native was an indoor SEC shot put champ in 2022 and 2024. Davis took two more SEC indoor gold medals in the weight throw in 2023 an 2024.

Ally Henson

In 2024, Ally Henson was a spunky grad student at North Carolina State. She is currently the fifth fastest all-time 100-meter hurdler at 13.36 seconds as well as the fifth fastest 60-meter hurdler at 8.29 seconds in school history. A native of Houston, Texas, Henson competed in two ACC 60-meter hurdles finals during her career in 2022 and 2024 respectively. During her outdoor career, Henson qualified for two ACC 100-meter hurdles finals with a career best fifth place finish in 2023. She also appeared at the east regional in 2023 and 2024.

Amber Anning

Born in London, England, Amber Anning has more medals than one can dream of earning in both collegiate and international competition. At Arkansas, Anning was an NCAA 1,600-meter relay champ during indoor season in 2023 and outdoor champion in 2024. She won the 400 meters gold as a solo act at this year's NCAA Indoor Championships. Anning was also the 2024 SEC indoor 400 meters champ. The last two years, Anning has shined on the global stage. She won the bronze as a fourth of the 1,600-meter relay at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. After her accomplished collegiate season, Anning took home two bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Paris last month. She was on the mixed 1,600-meter relay and women's 1,600-meter relay squads that placed third in both finals at the Olympic Games. Anning is the fast 400 meters sprinter in the history of Great Britain with a time of 49.29 seconds. She was fifth at in the final round of the 400 meters in the Olympics.
