Halloween has come and gone but we gotta let you all know something. Nobody does Halloween like the ladies. Yes, we know it's for the children to wear their favorite costumes and get loaded on candy, but when it comes to October 31st, women steal the show.

Along with paying homage to our favorite women and their costumes in 2024, we're also going to talk about some of our most beloved or so ridiculous we love it anyway, things about Halloween.

It's Reese's Pieces, Damn it!

Let's lead with this; so many people say that their favorite Halloween candy are those tasty peanut pieces that look like M&Ms. You know, Reese's Pieces. However, so many people don't know how to properly say the name. To many of you, it's "Reesey Peeseys." I mean it clearly says, "Reese's Pieces on the wrapper and it is pronounced properly on the commercial, but for whatever reason, people ignore all of that and continue to say Reesey Peeseys. Who are we to judge, right?

Angel Gazaway as SpongeBob SquarePants

Back to the costumes. Angel Gazaway released some birthday photos on Nov. 2, which yes, was post-Halloween but believe it or not, grown folks were dressing up from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2. In the photos, the four-time Mid-American Conference Track and Field Champion dressed up as her interpretation of SpongeBob SquarePants. Despite her departure from the sport where she shined as a hurdler at Eastern Michigan, Gazaway is about as popular as ever with over 25,000 followers on TikTok.

"The Front Room aka Some Scary Shit"

A few weeks ago, Terrifier 3 hit theaters and was the number one movie in the United States, which is an amazing feat due to it being an independent project. Due to not seeing the original Terrifier or Terrifier 2, we kind of stayed away from Terrifier 3 until we have time to consume the first two installments. Well, we're not sure if it's about having the time or the stomach. However, let's talk about the scariest thing we've seen so far this year on a movie screen. No it wasn't the nosedive that "Joker 2: Folie a Deux" did from it's excellent predecessor Joker. We're still mad about that sequal.

The scariest thing we saw was what we will call "The shittiest movie" we've seen all year. Not that the movie was bad. It's just the total of bowel movements that was portrayed was uncomfortable, which was the director's purpose. "The Front Room" starred the legendary and talented Brandy Norwood. In this film she has to deal with a step-mother-in-law (Is that even a thing?). This woman is the step-mother-in-law from hell. She poops and poops and poops and poops, over and over and over again. The film was labeled as a psychological horror film. We can't say we were scared but we were definitely psychologically scarred for a few days.

Dreeanna Wade as IT aka Pennywise

Another woman from the world of track and field rocked a dope costume. Many of us have seen people wear the Pennywise costume from the 2017 movie "IT," but in all of the seven years since the film's release, nobody has worn the costume better than Dreeanna Wade. The chiseled sprinter who runs for Western Kentucky changed the horrific character into something to aspire towards. If you want inspiration for the new year resolution of getting in better shape, there are few examples better than Wade.

A Plea to The Anxious Voters

Okay so as we wrap up our post-Halloween celebration, let's talk about what may be the scariest thing outside of poverty, homelessness and starvation in the United States. Election season is making folks lose their minds. So many people, no matter their ages are suffering from anxiety over the upcoming presidential election. Both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump supporters are in fear of many things. The most apparent fear seems to be, not getting exactly what they want.

Here's some advice. No matter what happens and who wins, life is likely not going to stop for you. Let's do all we can to create a more positive and loving environment, no matter who wins. The way a lot of us are acting over this election is a bit scary. Once again, like the Reesey Peesey thing, who are we to judge. Maybe you all are enjoying this.

Okay let's check out some other dope costumes from some of the dopest women on the planet!

Lauren Brown aka Chucky

Lauren Brown, a sprinter at Arizona State dropped her hot photo set on Instagram, with a caption that read, "I'm Chucky, but I'm not here to play." Needless to say, Brown showed up as Chucky from the iconic horror film series "Child's Play."

Katriina Wright aka Black Widow

Scarlette Johansson, eat your heart out. Katriina Wright, an All-American sprinter from Oregon, did the Black Widow for Halloween as well as she races around the track. Check her out in the Big Ten this season as Oregon competes in the conference for the first time.

Gabby Griffiths aka Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader

Last Thanksgiving, a 77-year-old Dolly Parton, sported a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader uniform during the halftime performance. The singing sensation and American treasure was impressive. Nobody would've thought a woman of that age could pull off such a look, but Dolly taught us to expand our expectations. Gabby Griffiths, a thrower for the University of Akron's track and field squad returned Dallas Cowboys uniform look back to the 20-somethings. Her Halloween costume was hotter than summer in Texas!
