It makes one so confused when people leave their countries to immigrate to countries where their are laws created to protect others. For example the many Africans that immigrate to countries where homosexuality is not only legalized but there are laws to protect the LGTBQ community.
Most of the people bring their hatred along with them, when the roles are reversed, Africans and others will loudly tell you not to bring that to their countries. The issue of gender equality and gender equity are a worldwide issue. Yet some countries are ranked worse than others, Ghana is ranked 100 out of 136 on this gender index scale.
Well the Ghana government is trying to right their wrongs, but Ghanaian men are showing just why the country is such a terrible place for women and girls.
Ghana's parliament has passed the Affirmative Action Gender Equity Bill 2024 into law. The bill aims to increase the number of women in key positions in governance, public life, and decision-making which is expected to improve the lives of women in the country.
After seeing this posted to social media platforms dozens of Ghanaian men lost their minds.

Some of the comments are too stupid and hateful to beleive, yet this is the Ghana this author had to live in, being bullied for weight, light skin and trying to establish my gender equality American nonprofit into an NGO in Ghana.
Ghanaian men seem to myself as hateful as the most closed minded American racist.
A time will come men will be so vulnerable in Ghana and the time has come and we will all bear the brunt of our action as men. Men should wise up and rise up to fight for their rights

Dem now go bill us more. I don’t support that but since it’s passed into law I have no option
Quick question, is there any position or job that say even if you qualify as a female you can't have, it's for men only?
Adam made the same mistake, we didn't learn anything from it.
This man Ike Yaw is a member of the Ghana military, what a scary comment coming from someone who has to work with women who are also soldiers in Ghana. These comments are many, I triy to use as many as possible so I'm not called a liar.
These comments reflect the mentality of Ghanaians, women rarely ever speak up for themselves in the country. Femicide and rape are rampant, this author has been stalked and threatened for the things I write, even when adding in statistics about the country.

The women in politics these days are more wicked and corrupt than men.
Only 14% of Ghana's government are made up of women, even in Ghana's human rights annual review, women have reported being threatened when trying to run for office. For some reason Ghanaian men nor women appear to care or notice the lack of women holding political office. Meanwhile Ghanaian political leaders are often insulted, one called a lesbian another compared to a prostitute.
But were they not involved in governance, public life, and or decisions making?......I think we unnecessarily rather make laws that will detriment the male gender one day and it will be difficult for reversal.
We have had Chief Justices, speaker, MPs, directors, CEOs being females so what again?.....
The only way to be equal to a task is when you have the capacity to do so. The female MPs currently in Ghana are not men they put in work and resources of which most women are unwilling to do , even with that they still need the support and security of men to do so unless they want an all women initiative else , I wonder if there are jobs the are specifically meant for men and not capacity/experienced based
Men should also take some market roles so that every place balances. We need more 50/50 in the assistant, secretary positions. Not to forget about nurses.
I know you will talk about qualification but we are talking about affirmative gender equality so we are not looking at the certain qualifications other than the balance of gender.
No more monthly payment system but it should be hourly so that salaries will be based on equal effort. Don't worry, this is what you think about the bill right?
Look at the ignorance of this man, he thinks that men don't work in the markets, some do. Most however think selling fruits, vegetables and other items in the markets are the jobs of their mothers or sisters.

It is almost hard to believe that Ghana is in the same century as the rest of the world. What it lacks in thinking is also what it lacks in development. Ghanaians will fight you to the death to defend their backwards way of life and thinking.

Dem now go bill us more. I don’t support that but since it’s passed into law I have no option
What at all does women lack in our society again, always favouring women in all aspects of life.
You will always see the hardworking women on top there, so what again??
Anyways vote for Movement For Change and Alan Kyeremanteng coming December general elections, he'll be the Nkrumah of our time.

This is one law that rather look down on women
Because with my knowledge of Gender Development
Women are also to work hard for any positions they think they can handle but you don't give them just the numbers because they are women and even those who have got chance to serve at the highest level for the likes of Hawah koomson and co- what actually are they offering on board?
To talk about cecila Dapaah
I mean to mention few what are they doing good that need to be advocated for?
I don't agree with this law becos when a woman get position he becomes arrogance
Preaching the Good Works of Npp.
Then our young women should start behaving well , they should stop misbehaving on social media
Men are beating, killing and raping women and girls in Ghana, he proclaims that women need to behave better! This is the most Ghana statement ever.

Always remember 'It is a woman's world ' it has always been fashioned for them, don't think they are a weak vessel , actually they run affairs...more is on the way, watch out!!!
The comments are endless and frankly this shows why I could never take my American gender nonprofit to Ghana. Everyday would have been a battle and sadly in some parts of the country because of my skin complexion it would not be safe for me to do so. I was asked for thousands in bribery money to just register in Ghana.
These comments only show the tip of how bad things are for women in the country.
