The experience of the woman in artist movements are often shared from the lens of a man. Men decide how a woman’s bodies should be in form, the acts that they perform, and the features to accentuate. It has been my experience that when women create art it comes from a deeper, more humanitarian space. We use art to balance the drill of our lives where everyone needs us. The outlet to soothe our traumas or in many art movements for artistic scholars the challenge to the male gaze.

Georgiana Cavendish, The Duchess of Devonshire was the great-great-great-grand-aunt to the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Georgiana was born into the Spencer family on 7th June, 1757, and was the first daughter to John, the Earl of Spencer and his wife, Georgiana, the Countess of Spencer. The Countess said of her daughter: “I will own I feel so partial to my Dear little Gee, that I think I never shall love another so well.” She was born at the Spencer family home in Althorp. The Spencer family were wealthy and her parents enjoyed a happy marriage. Georgiana knew only comfort and love whilst growing up.

First Black Woman To Receive White House Correspondent Credentials
Alice Allison Dunnigan was the first black woman correspondent to receive White House credentials and become a member of the press galleries. As a journalist, Dunnigan reported on the decline of Jim Crow during the forties and fifties. She accompanied President Harry S. Truman’s on his 1948 campaigning trip: the very first black reporter to travel with a president.

5 Surprising Geisha Facts
They Aren't Sex Workers. This might be one of the most common myths and one that was helped along by the book Memoirs of a Geisha, which was written by a man who had hardly any real contact with Geisha and traditional Japanese society. Explaining the role of Geisha in cultures where they don't exist is also very hard, which might have led to people assuming they were sex workers at first. Geisha are artists, literally. They keep the arts of spoken poetry, brush painting, traditional music, dance, and instruments alive. These are all pursuits that require the support of others and that take a long time to master. Geisha also train in the art of speaking and in social graces.
