Texas Tech keeps it 100, the LBC gets a W, Kansas wins big, Hartford wins out in the northeast

Long Beach State 71 - UC Riverside 66

Justina King scored 20 points and Kristyna Jeskeova grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Longbeach State to victory on Tuesday night.

Five players scored in double digits for the host Long Beach State (3-1). King's performance was her second with at least 20 points this season. Junior guard Kianna Hamilton-Fisher knocked down five-of-six shots to score 13 points. She entered the game averaging four points in her first two appearances.

Forward Naomi Hunt posted 11 points while reserves Myrrah Joseph and Patricia Chung scored 10 points each for Long Beach State. UC Riverside was led by guard Jordan Webster's 19 points. Webster shot 4-10 from three and 7-14 overall. The Highlanders got 12 points and six rebounds from guard Jada Holland in the defeat.

Kansas 78 - New Mexico State 59

Senior forward Tina Stephens had a perfect game when it came to shooting. While leading Kansas (5-2) with 11 rebounds, she made two field goals and four free-throws without a miss to score nine points. Other Jayhawks scored more but her efficiency was something to be noticed. Stephens also tallied three assists.

Sophomore guard Holly Kersgieter led Kansas with 14 points. The 5-10 sophomore guard is averaging 16.8 points per game, up from her average of 10.1 points as a freshman. Kersgieter has scored at least 12 points in every game this season.

Hot shooting guard Aniya Thomas scored 13 points on four-of-five shooting. She has shot at least 50 percent in all but one of Kansas' games this season. Other double digit scorers for Kansas were Ioanna Chatzileonti (11), Julie Brosseau (10) and Zakiyah Franklin (10).

New Mexico State had a rough time shooting with a clip of 35 percent but one bright spot was senior guard Aaliyah Prince. The 5-8 native of San Antonio, Texas had her fourth game with at least 20 points, pouring in 22 on 11-of-16 shooting. She also had five rebounds and just one turnover. Prince is averaging a career best 16.4 points per game this season.

Texas Tech 100 - Incarnate Word 47

A duo from Texas Tech (6-2) outscored Incarnate Word by themselves on Tuesday night. Forward Lexi Gordon posted 28 points and forward Vivian Gray supported her with 27 in the 53-point blowout home win.

After her first eight games Gordon is averaging a career best 18.4 points per game. The 6-0 senior's career average is 8.2 points per game. She has scored at least 24 points in each of the last three games. Gray is averaging 18.8 points, which is a little less than her average of 19.3 from last season. She also grabbed 10 rebounds against Incarnate Word which gave her a double-double for the second time in three games.

Texas Tech also got a double-double from sophomore guard Alexis Tucker. She scored 10 points with 10 rebounds. Tucker was a perfect two-of-two from the field and six-of-six from the free-throw line. Incarnate Word was led by freshman guard Jaaucklyn Moore's 14 points.

Hartford 64 - New Hampshire 57

The Hartford Hawks held off New Hampshire in a turnover ridden contest to improve their record to 2-2.

Hartford had 10 assists and 22 turnovers and New Hampshire amassed 16 giveaways and 8 dimes. Hartford won by outshooting its opponent 42 percent to 28 percent. Hawks junior guard Jordan McLemore had her best showing of the year with a season best four assists and just two turnovers. She was the only Hartford player to have more assists than turnovers. McLemore hit four-of-seven shots on her way to nine points. She also collected three rebounds.

Hartford reserve Jada Lucas led the team with 14 points, hitting three-of-six three-point shots. Guard Nina Farkic also scored 11 points. Another reserve Marisa Lee had a nice outing with nine points and nine rebounds. New Hampshire was led in scoring by forward Ivy Gogolin's 18 points.
