Dyaisha gets Triple Double, Esmery gets 20+ boards again, NC State still unbeaten, Nia leads Xavier

Buffalo 85 - Akron 77
Sophomore Dyaisha Fair's triple-double led Buffalo (3-2) to a win in its Mid-American Conference opener against Akron (3-1), Sunday, Dec. 13. The 5-5 guard posted 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 28 points in the win. It was her third game in which she's scored at least 27 points this season.
Faire also posted two steals and a block and hit 15-of-19 free-throws during the process. Her teammate forward, Adebola Adeyeye posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She has scored in double figures for the last three games.
Buffalo trailed 66-63 as it entered the fourth quarter, but it outscored the Zips 22-9 in the final period to steal the win. Akron had two 20-point scorers in its first loss of the season. Senior forward Jordyn Dawson posted 22 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore forward Lonasia Brewer had 20 points and five rebounds making six-of-10 of her shots.
North Carolina State 75 - Boston College 69
North Carolina State (6-0) used a 28-9 fourth quarter to come from behind and stay unbeaten in a win over Boston College (4-2).

Center Elissa Cunane had her second straight double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Her frontcourt mate had Kayla Jones led the Wolfpack with 25 points and three steals.
North Carolina State survived a 20-point output from Boston College's Makayla Dickens. It was the junior guard's highest scoring total of the season. Dickens also lit it up going 6-10 from the three-point line.
West Virginia 85 - James Madison 54
Esmery Martinez pulled down 21 rebounds and scored 11 points as West Virginia (5-1) rocked James Madison in a 31-point win. Martinez was one rebound shy of her career high 22 boards that she snatched from North Alabama on Dec. 3, in an 80-51 win. Sunday night's effort brought her rebounds per game average to 17.4.

Five Mountaineers scored at least 10 points in the game. Senior guard Kysre Gondrezick led WVU in scoring for the sixth time in six games. She scored 14 of her 15 points in the first half. Fellow guards Madisen Smith and Kirsten Deans scored 13 points each. They both combined for eight-of-13 shooting including a perfect three-of-three from three-point territory.
Junior guard Jasmine Carson showed up and poured in 10 points in nine minutes. She also pitched in three rebounds, one assist and one steal in a productive performance. West Virginia outrebounded James Madison 55-35 and outshot it from three 60 percent to 19 percent.
A trio of guards for James Madison scored in double figures. Brianna Tinsley and Peyton McDonald had 14 points each and KiKi Jefferson scored 10.
Xavier 70 - Wofford 64
Junior Nia Clark scored 17 points to lead Xavier (2-0) to a win over Wofford (3-2). Clark hit six-of-12 shots and led her team in scoring for the second time in as many games.
Two Musketeers had double-doubles. Starting senior forward A'Riana Gray posted 13 points and 11 rebounds. Reserve sophomore guard Kae Satterfield posted 15 points and 13 rebounds. Satterfield nearly had a double-double in the season opener as she posted 12 points and nine boards against Detroit, Nov. 25. Senior point guard Aaliyah Dunham had an effective outing with five assists, four steals, four points and three rebounds.
Xavier had a comfy 54-39 lead entering the fourth, but Wofford made a game out of it outscoring its host opponent 25-16 in the final period. Junior guard Jackie Carman scored a team high 14 points for Wofford. It was her season high in five games. Junior forward Alexis Tomlin came off of the bench and scored 13 points with nine rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
