
As soon as the women's college basketball season ended, the mad dash towards the NCAA transfer portal began. Here is a look at some of the most impactful transfers for the 2021-22 NCAA women's college basketball season.
Oshlynn Brown
New School: Rutgers, Previous School: Ball State
A 6-1 forward, Oshlynn Brown was a two-time All-Mid American Conference selection and she left Ball State as the all-time leader in rebounds. She averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds per contest last season. In her final game which was during the Mid-American Conference Tournament, Brown snagged 22 rebounds while scoring 12 points in a three-point loss to Ohio. Brown scored a season best 33 points against Miami in a regular season home win. In 21 contests she was only held under 10 points once and 10 rebounds four times.
Nneka Obiazor
New School: UNLV, Previous School: Youngstown State
Nneka Obiazor was named National Freshman of the Year by Winners Only. UNLV head coach Lindy La Rocque said, "We are super excited to welcome Nneka as a Lady Rebel. Her ability to shoot the three and be physical in the post adds great versatility to our team and offense. She is a smart, mature and driven young woman who wants to compete for championships here at UNLV."
Nneka averaged 15 points and eight rebounds per game for Youngstown State. Her biggest offensive output came against Cleveland State when she scored 29 points on four-of-six shooting from three-point land. She also collected nine boards in that contest. The 5-10 forward had four games with 10 or more rebounds and scored 10 or more points in 16 of the 18 contests that she competed.
Eva Hodgson
New School: North Carolina, Previous School: William & Mary
Eva Hodgson had a tremendous 2019-20 season scoring 20.7 points per game with William & Mary. She had a 50/40/90 season, knocking down 54 percent of her shots, 43.2 percent from three and 91 percent from the free-throw line, leading the CAA in each category. Hodgson scored more single season points than any player in school history with 599. Her career high is 34 points, which she posted against Elon, Jan. 31, 2020. She decided not to play in 2020-21 due to COVID-19 concerns.
Aaliyah Patty
New School: Texas A&M, Previous School: Ohio State
In her third year at Ohio State, Aaliyah Patty had her best individual season. She averaged 11.4 points in 18 contests, while also grabbing 5.8 rebounds and blocking 1.2 shots per game. Against Penn State she swatted a season best four shots. In a road win over Illinois, she recorded season highs with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Patty also earned career highs this season shooting 37.8 percent from three and 76.3 percent from the charity stripe.
JerKaila Jordan
New School: Mississippi State, Previous School: Tulane
During her freshman season, JerKaila Jordan was a star for Tulane. She averaged 16.6 points per game, scoring at least 20 points on 10 occasions. She posted 29 points twice. Jordan got things done on the defensive side as she stole the ball at least three times in nine games. She hit four threes in two games, including when she made all four of her attempts against Memphis.
Fujika Nimmo
New School: Cal State Fullerton, Previous School: Florida International
In her sophomore season, Fujika Nimmo improved her scoring averaged from 8.5 in 2019-20, to 11.4 in 2020-21. She had two 28-point games, including one where she made 10-of-14 shots against Abilene Christian. Nimmo hit at least three three-pointers in nine contests. She made four-of-seven threes in a win against Southern Miss. Her season high in assists was eight, which she accomplished three times.
