Their One Shining Baseball Moment Is Within Their Reach
Blue Jays are a victory away from their third World Series title

Rookie pitcher Troy Yesavage (pictured above) had the most outstanding performance of his career Wednesday night, going against Blake Snell, who thought he was going to be untouchable during the duration of the Postseason. He made World Series history by recording an incredible 12 strikeouts, which is a new record for a rookie in a Fall Classic. Also, he made Postseason history for becoming the first rookie to strike out 10 batters or more in multiple games. The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-1 in Game 5. Now, they're just one win away from capturing their first World Series title since 1993. 22-year-old Yesavage made his MLB debut in mid-September after being drafted last season. He has a bright future with the Blue Jays moving forward. Game 6 will return to Toronto on Friday night, meaning that they have two more chances to clinch a World Series title. Kevin Gausman will take the mound, while Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Dodgers is expected to start.
As of 2025, the last time a team has repeated as World Series champions was the New York Yankees back in 2000. If the Blue Jays were to somehow upset the defending champion Dodgers in Game 6, where would that game rank among the best Fall Classic games in MLB history? It all depends on how well they perform on Friday night.
The Toronto Blue Jays have proved everyone wrong this season. They were expected to be a sub-.500 team, but they had other ideas. With power hitters such as Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. and Daulton Varsho, they're one of the reasons why this team is destined to win the World Series.
Let's talk about another player from the Blue Jays that I like talking about: Max Scherzer. Winning another title would mean so much to the 41-year-old two-time World Series champion and future Hall of Famer. For nearly two decades, he's played for several teams, won the Cy Young Award three times, an eight-time All-Star, and has 3,000+ career strikeouts in 17 seasons. This World Series might be his final one of his successful MLB career. With Clayton Kershaw retiring after spending the entirety of his career with the Dodgers, will the Blue Jays win one more title for the man known as Mad Max?
As for the Dodgers, I still don't like them or their toxic fanbase. In fact, I blame Major League Baseball for paying so much attention to this team, especially during the Postseason. I've said this in my previous stories and I'll say it again: everything doesn't revolve around them or Shohei Ohtani. Translation: it's NOT always about you. There's plenty of other players in the league that deserve to be recognized and acknowledged. It's selfish that they make themselves the center of attention over someone else's achievements. The Postseason, especially the World Series, is an opportunity for all players to shine. The constant obsession and favoritism shown toward this team from Major League Baseball shows how biased they are. I'm not saying that players shouldn't be praised or acknowledged for the things that they do, but when the league makes a player and team the center of their social media posts, it starts to get old and annoying. It's not about jealousy. I'm just telling it like it is. Having the biggest payroll in baseball doesn't always equal or guarantee championships. Recently, I conducted a poll on Threads and asked everyone which team they despised the most.

Going back to the Blue Jays, I hope they win the World Series Friday night, which happens to be Halloween, and finally shut the Dodgers fans up for once.

I leave this question to everyone: If the Blue Jays happen to win the World Series, where do you think it'll rank among the best Fall Classic games in MLB?
