A Winning Legacy
They all came in uniform…of sorts. Each person wearing the outfit that most reflected the role in life that they now play because, at one time, they played for her. There were mostly basketball uniforms, both college and pro, a couple of military uniforms, the power suit of a corporate leader, and the robes of a judge. This last one spoke on behalf of the crowd as the casket was being carried by a few of the others. A few because the casket was not the normal size and length due to the petite size of the guest of honor. Only four people were needed to carry her from the hearse. But, looking upon the casket being placed, the judge couldn’t help but make a comment that erupted laughter throughout the crowd.

the atlanta hawks are moving on
Game 7 Hawks: 103 76ers: 96 Would you look at this. The Atlanta Hawks have taken down the number 1 team in the Eastern Conference and are moving on to the conference finals. If I went back to February and told any NBA analyst that the Hawks are going to be 4 wins away from the Finals, they’d think I’m crazy. But here we are. The Hawks are FOUR wins away from the NBA FINALS.

The NBA Needs To Change Its Playoff Format Now
One great thing about the NBA and commissioner David Stern is that they fix mistakes with their game. Case in point – in 2003 the NBA switched the first round of the playoffs from a best-of-five game series to a best-of-seven to help ensure that the better team advances. That’s why it’s mind boggling to wonder why they won’t change the playoff format to account for debacles like this season.

Hawks get the win in a historical comeback
Game 5 Hawks: 109 76ers: 106 Absolute roller coaster of emotions in this one. But before I get into my highly anticipated opinions and analysis of last nights game, I need to give a little side story of my experience watching it.

Hawks lost last night...
Game 2 Hawks: 102 76'ers: 118 Yes we lost. I'm gonna write about this game only because I can't end the streak of writing on the morning after each game. The more I write about us losing, the more frustrated I'm gonna get. And honestly, its been a good morning so far. I got up at 5:00 am, turned on some Harry Potter, had a breakfast burrito, showered, I even did some laundry. It's 7:45 now and I am just sitting down with my coffee to write this blog. But I really don't feel like typing a huge essay to try to explain last nights loss and ruin my mood in the process. If I were to get into all the details of how the game went, I'd just get more and more mad having to replay everything in my head. So imma keep it simple.

NBA Playoff Storylines
For the first time in his career Lebron James has been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. As defending champs the Lakers were supposed to contend for a repeat a little longer than they did. The Lakers being gone does not spell an end to the countless storylines still remaining in the NBA playoff landscapes. Here are 5 worth a look.

Hawks making a statement with Game 1 win
Game 1 Hawks: 128 76'ers: 124 Alright, the Hawks are dangerous and anybody that thinks otherwise is a clown. Absolutely nobody thought that we would even make it past the first round, and now we are up 1-0 against the first seed in the conference. Just like the Knicks series, this Hawk team just put on a clinic on the road to open up the series. It really feels good to see them clicking like this and finally getting some notice and credit from the media. There's a lot to talk about here.

Trae Young and the Hawks are officially part owners of New York City
Game 5 Hawks: 103 Knicks: 89 Well there ya have it folks. The Hawks have officially put the Knicks and the entire city of New York out of their misery after an absolute beat down in this 5 game series. I think it's safe to say the majority of basketball analysts, fans, and even players had Julius Randle and the Knicks taking this series in 6 or 7 but our guys changed that narrative before it even had a chance to become reality.

We Want WNBA 9
Now for our WNBA update. It's a while and we apologize but here goes. The Connecticut Sun are the top team in the Eastern Conference with a 7-2 record. They are 4-0 at home and have the league's top defense, limiting opponents to 73.4 points per contest. Forward Jonquel Jones is having her best season ever for Connecticut. The fifth year, 6-6 veteran is averaging 20.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and hitting 54.5 percent of her shots. She's also nailing 48.8 percent of her threes.

One more win...
Game 4 Hawks: 113 Knicks: 96 The Hawks took care of business at home the last two games and now we are looking to close it out in MSG. The series has gone exactly as I had hoped so far. Trae Young has created some enemies, the whole city of New York hates him, and they are giving the Hawks more and more of a reason to play even better. I love it.
