One Win Away!
The New York Yankees are on the cusp on reaching the World Series for the 41st time

After rallying to beat the Cleveland Guardians in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series on Friday night to take a 3-1 ALCS lead, the New York Yankees are just one win away from winning the AL Pennant for the first time since 2009. The Yankees have repeated as World Series champions a total of twelve times and out of those twelve, they accomplished the three-peat twice (1936-1938) and (1998-2000). In their over 120 year history, they have more World Series Championships than any other MLB team with 27. Plus, they have 40 AL Pennants and 21 AL East Division titles. 2009 didn't seem like it was that long ago, but to refresh your memory, the Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 to win their 27th World Series title. Hideki Matsui was named World Series MVP. Fast forward to 2024, during the regular season, one interesting slogan has been the rallying cry amongst Yankees fans and it's the following:

If you've seen #ChaseFor28 on social media and during the regular season, Yankees fans believe that this is the year the Yankees will win the World Series. I believe that they will, but it all depends on what happens tonight and whether or not they'll punch their tickets to the Fall Classic. As for my predictions on who will win the ALCS MVP, I have either Giancarlo Stanton or Aaron Judge, with whom I'll talk more about in a bit, taking that honor. Should the Yankees win the World Series, the biggest question is will Juan Soto be given a contract extension or see him on another team for the 2025 MLB season? I've always been in favor of signing Soto to a contract extension, because this kid is special and talented. He's the piece that keeps this team together. In the last week or so, many baseball fans have been predicting a possible Mets-Yankees Subway Series World Series rematch. The last time that happened was back in 2000. That dream matchup would be the talk of the baseball town and buzzworthy. There would be a plethora of media coverage over it. So I hope the Mets tie the series at three in the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. The Mets, who started 0-5 to start the regular season, overcame all the obstacles and turned their season around, eventually making it to the playoffs. Now, they need to get past the Dodgers in order to make this dream matchup with the Yankees in the World Series a reality.
My thoughts about Aaron Judge

Before I conclude this story, I want to talk about arguably the most popular player on the Yankees. It's none other than Aaron Judge. Previously, I've had a huge dislike of him for a number of reasons. There's a number of baseball players, past and present, that I loathe, but for valid reasons. In the case of Aaron Judge, I've always saw him as a one-dimensional player. In other words, I only see him hitting just home runs and barely seeing him have any base hits. Sure, fans get excited about home runs, but you have to be able to balance between the two. Also, his "I'm so much better than you" attitude had always rubbed me the wrong way. That's the vibe I got from him. While there's nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishments, being overly boastful, especially in general, is one of my biggest pet peeves. I've had a pure dislike of Aaron Judge for over three months because of the aforementioned reasons. I've now come to a realization that I haven't given him a fair chance. I'm not a Yankees fan, but I do believe that this team will win the World Series. I predict that Aaron Judge will win the World Series MVP. I also believe that he'll retire as a New York Yankee and a potential future baseball Hall of Famer. You might be wondering why I'm now giving him praise. What made me change my mind about him? Like I said, I'm not a Yankees fan, but I think that he and the Yankees will win it all. I was born in New York, but again, not a Yankees fan. Here on Vocal, I'm giving Aaron Judge his flowers that were way overdue. I was wrong about him being untalented. I had to open my eyes and realize that Aaron Judge is him. He's that guy and I don't see him going to any other team. I'm going to give players their props when it's due. In conclusion, I declare that Aaron Judge is a badass and a MF superstar. Nuff said.
