Olympic Snowboarder Called Modern Pablo Escobar Pleads Not Guilty
Former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking and murder charges after being compared to Pablo Escobar.

Ryan Wedding went from snowboarding in the Olympics to allegedly boarding snow on vehicles and aircraft. Wedding represented Canada before authorities arrested him on multiple charges including conspiracy to traffic cocaine and murder.
This is interesting because the sports world is often looked at as a lucrative and viable way to make money. However, most athletes in the Olympics don’t get advertising deals and multi-million-dollar contracts.
Wedding supposedly moved sixty metric tons of the white stuff before he was caught. He had been an athlete who could’ve excelled during his career. Instead, he chose to turn to the narcotics game.
His crimes would be okay barring the murder cases, of course. This is the game they play, they are federal agents. They’re so concerned with drug trafficking and saying that the drugs fuel terrorism. Well, put it in the market the same way bread or eggs are sold. Maybe not to that extent but certainly alcohol and some THC and CBD elements.
So Wedding brought all this upon himself. If the charges stick, he will spend decades behind bars. The way he has been a target for his cocaine trafficking is embarrassing. The homicides attached to his name seem more relevant and concerning.
Going from an Olympic contender to an alleged cocaine trafficker is one of the saddest stories in recent sports history. He should’ve been much smarter. If he did in fact commit these crimes, he should pay his debt to the victims and their families.
What is happening is a microcosm for the world of drugs and sports. Usually, it’s a case of doping but here we get the thought for increasing bank accounts. Instead of banging his quads, Wedding was apparently slanging that ‘caine.
With comparisons to El Chapo and Pablo Escobar, law enforcement sought satisfaction when they brought in Wedding. Like most traffickers, he started with marijuana and then graduated to blow.
In all of his bouts with selling cocaine to an undercover agent, he had been arrested and sent to prison for a few years. Why didn’t smarten up, open the market up and become an announcer or spokesman for some (legal) product?
Could he have been a better man if he had just remained in the route to excellence by coaching other snowboarders.
As the Winter Olympics approach, it will be a timely and important time period for Wedding. He will be confined to a cell as the world takes in the spectacle.
For him to be in the clutches of justice could spell something proper or morally reprehensible. To go from a top athlete to a low life is what is so distressing. He has to be proven guilty, however. When the trial begins, Wedding will be grilled and he’s still pleading not guilty. Even with all the charges leveled against him, he still maintains his innocence.
The streak of different charges against him paint a war story of his alleged involvement in the drug game. Hip hop artists like Griselda will most likely latch on to his unusual surname. Rappers will be glad to expound upon the exploits surrounding the crimes of Wedding.
If he goes to the day room and watches the snowboarding events, he may shed a tear. By knowing that he had been on that stage yesteryear, he might need to have psychiatric care.
In all, Ryan Wedding is deep into the way of shwoing what kind of man he is. It will take everything for him to get through the trial and keep his head. If he is able to navigate through the nonsense, he just might be on the snow again, not the kind you sell either.
