My Brutally Honest Thoughts About Barry Bonds
The disgraced former MLB player takes aim at Major League Baseball

Recently, disgraced former MLB player Barry Bonds accused the league of continuously and repeatedly snubbing him for Hall of Fame consideration. As of 2025, Bonds, now 60, is still ineligible for the Hall, mainly for his use of performance-enhancing drugs during his career. He shared an Instagram post of different athletes who were blackballed from their respective sports. One of them was former San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was infamous for taking a knee during the National Anthem during games to protest police brutality. In the case of Barry Bonds, he believes that now's the time for him to be in Cooperstown. Major League Baseball is actually doing him a favor by remaining barred from being in the Hall. They're doing it for his own good. He was inducted into the Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame last season, alongside former manager Jim Leyland.
Many baseball fans consider the late, great Hank Aaron as the true Home Run King instead of Bonds. I would choose Hank Aaron over this cheat every single time. To me, Barry Bonds should remain barred from being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. As I stated in my Pete Rose story, which you can read down below, any form of cheating is an unforgiveable act. Fans still care about the integrity of the game, and I'll never give a former player props for setting a home run record that he achieved under false pretenses. Players like Bonds, Mark McGuire, and Sammy Sosa didn't "save baseball" by using steroids or any PEDs. They did it for their own selfish, personal and professional gain. In fact, they ruined baseball by cheating, not knowing how it affected their fans and the consequences that came with those actions.
Barry Bonds portrays himself as the victim, but to me, he's not. He takes zero accountability for his actions, and he blames Major League Baseball for keeping out of the Hall of Fame. He's playing the whole "Other players were juiced up, too" card in order to minimize any responsibility on his part. Instead, Bonds decided to take the easy way out by using PEDs in order to set records and win awards. MLB didn't make him do all those things. He didn't care what he did or who he hurt. I don't care how good of a player he was. If you cheat in any way, shape, or form, I automatically lose respect for you. I've written several stories about the Houston Astros cheating scandal. Me being a Rangers fan, I'm still angry at them and will never forgive them or get over it. Major League Baseball continuously banning Barry Bonds from being inducted to the Hall sends a strong message to all players. Had Bonds played by the rules, he would've been inducted in Cooperstown by now. Cheating, whether it was either for personal or professional gain, shows that players like Bonds didn't respect the game or himself. He plays the part of a professional victim very well that it's both laughable and ridiculous. Barry Bonds should learn from Ichiro, Billy Wagner, and CC Sabathia. These three will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame this summer. They paid their dues in the league and earned the title of legend. Also, they're respected by the respective teams they were on and their fans. I'll never acknowledge Barry Bonds or Pete Rose as legends. They don't deserve that title, because both of them tarnished their own careers and legacies. Plus, their reputations are forever ruined. No matter what comes out of Barry Bonds' mouth, anything he says or has said is a lie. Everything about him is a lie. He has no room to put MLB on blast, because like I said before, he'll never get into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
I pose this question to everyone: Which current or former MLB players would you want to see be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame? Sound off in the comments below and be sure to like this story.
