The 2019 NBA Finals have been a tale of two cities. For the Toronto Raptors of the North, the journey to the NBA Finals has been full of hard work, surprises, and dedication. For a franchise that has not yet won an NBA championship, the city of Toronto have been standing by their home team as if they have been in this situation before. Celebrities such as the Canadian icon Drake have bought into the new winning tradition that was inherited from Raptors superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard. After years of playing in San Antonio, Kawhi Leonard has shown the league why he has always deserved to be considered an elite NBA player. With another chance to win an NBA championship, Kawhi and the Raptors must dust off a determined Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson who seem to have their sights focused on winning their third straight title.

5th Grade Somers Girls Win the Tri-County Basketball League Championship at the Buzzer
The 5U Girls TCBL Championship game at 7 Bridges School on Sunday didn’t look like it would amount to much excitement at the outset. Ardsley’s deft little point guard put the ball on the floor, and set her sights for the rim en route to eight first quarter points. The long two her oversized shooting guard drained from the corner didn’t say much for a compelling game either. So, facing a 10-4 deficit after one, Somers looked as the tandem was going to run them out of the gym. But the closure that coach Rob Hawkins got his girls to employ said nothing about giving up, and ultimately had the Tuskers and Lindsay Ulaj sounding their trumpets in a 24-22 buzzer beater.

4 Athletes Who Show the Importance of Workout Variety
People who focus on personal fitness tend to understand the value of mixing things up. Or at least, it’s something we tend to learn to do as we get older. For instance, an athlete who’s used to team competitive sports may ultimately transition to mixed martial arts to scratch that competitive itch; a former swimmer may switch to ballet if it becomes easier to work into a busy schedule.
