The Ultimate Piano Carriers
Whenever I talk or write about the make-up of a team I usually refer to the concept of teams being made up of piano players and piano carriers. The players in this concept are the skilful ones, the ones that people tend to notice, they get a lot more attention, do many more press conferences and tend to attract bigger sponsorship deals. The carriers are the ones who do all the stuff that the players do not do, the stuff that needs doing but people hardly notice it getting done. For some reason in the sporting world the players tend to be better looking and much more likely to work on screen after their careers or over and sometimes even during their careers.

NFL Week 9
Week 9 This was a week of upsets with a few statement wins thrown in. In what I am hoping will be a Superbowl rehearsal the Titans travelled to Los Angeles to take on the Rams. With home advantage and the Titans without their phenomenal running back Derrick Henry, the Rams started as reasonably significant favourites. Yet it was Tennessee who got off to a flying start, thanks largely to their defensive line causing havoc. They were 21-3 up at half time and never looked like losing from there, finishing up 28-16 winners. That, along with Buffalo’s shock 9-6 loss to Jacksonville, established the Titans in the number one seed position in the AFC. Given that they did all that without Henry, it put them well in the conversation for genuine Superbowl contenders, odds of 25-1 are certainly looking lively at this moment.

NFL week 7 and 8
Week 7 The Cardinals continued their run as the only unbeaten team in the NFL, their seventh win in a row being one of their more routine ones, a 31-5 win at home to the Houston Texans, who still only have one win to their name. At this stage the Texans already look to be in a battle for last place in the league with the Jaguars, the Lions and maybe the Jets – who lost 54-13 in New England this week.

NFL Week 5 and 6
Week 5 Fantasy Football is back! Thanks largely to Herbert lighting it up for over 42 points in a crazy game against Cleveland, my team got back on the winning trail. I managed to beat Jay who was lying second in the table before that game, the fact that two of his players scored no points was a big help. A new running back picked up on a waiver helped me out, Hubbard at Carolina was filling in for McCaffrey and scored me 18 points. Kelce chipped in with seventeen points as did my Buffalo defence. In the end it all ended up to a relatively comfortable 128-101 victory to move me to 3-2.
