This year is the championship defense for the Als, and it started with two games on the road, which Montréal won. For Week 3, it's the long awaited home opener, and the team and their fans celebrated their first championship in 13 years. After the banner was unveiled, the Alouettes got right to work in this East Division battle against the Ottawa Redblacks.

A Look at the 10 Remaining Teams Who Have Yet to Win the Stanley Cup
On June 24, 2024, the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup for the first time in their franchise history, which began back in 1993. The NHL has seen a lot of first-time champions crowned in recent years. This year marks the fourth time in the last seven years that the Stanley Cup went to a team who hadn't won it before. The trend started with the Washington Capitals in 2018, and in 2019, it was the St. Louis Blues who won it. Last year, the Vegas Golden Knights won the Cup in their sixth season of play.

Women Breaking Barriers - Challenging the NFL
Most would think that a woman as the United States President is the ultimate position any woman could obtain. Yes, that would be great, but we have women in power—our first Vice President, members of Congress, the Senate, Supreme Court judges, and CEOs of major corporations—but where is our representation in the NFL?

On Saturday June 22, Somers Red Storm started hot like the weather and loaded the bases with nobody out. Unfortunately, two strikeouts and ground ball kept the runners put and Pound Ridge answered by scoring one in the bottom of the inning. Winner Takes All: The Complete History of Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Final
Game Seven. No two words have brought out more excitement, tension, and panic more than "Game Seven." Of course, Game Seven exists in the playoff series format that we see in MLB, the NBA, and the NHL. MLB only has the League Championship Series (since 1985) and the World Series played under a best-of-seven format. Since 2003, all NBA playoff rounds have been best-of-seven, while the NHL has had every round play under that format since 1987.

Stanley Cup Final Game Six: Let's Get Dangerous!
It all ends on Monday. Game Six of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final had a few trivial notes involved prior to puck drop. For one, the Edmonton Oilers forced Game Six after losing the first three games of this thing, becoming the fourth team to do so in the Final and the tenth team to pull it off in the overall playoffs. They do have a bit of history on their side in this game: no opposing team has ever clinched the Cup in Edmonton.

CFL Week 2 Recap: Trouble in Winnipeg?
Winnipeg has always been an interesting pro sports city. It's located smack dab in the middle of the country, it's basically Canada's equivalent of Chicago. Much like Chicago and St. Louis, Winnipeg's geographical sports alignment is quite fluid. When I started watching the CFL, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were in the East Division because there were eight teams in the league at the time. Once the Ottawa Redblacks debuted, the Bombers moved to the West Division, because there were (once again) three Ontario franchises in the league.

Earth News Update: June 18, 2024. Content Warning.
Over the past few weeks, the sun has exhibited heightened activity, with a specific focus on the sunspot region AR3712. This region has grown significantly, expanding from an area equivalent to one Earth to over five Earths in size. Sunspot AR3712 has been responsible for the majority of the solar flares observed recently. In the past 24 hours alone, 21 C-class flares were recorded, most of which originated from AR3712. This heightened solar activity, while primarily involving lower-level flares, holds potential for more significant events given the region's magnetic complexity.
