The Pocket Aces Principle and Crypto Investing In poker, pocket aces.
How I’m Watching Dalpy Coin and Learning When to Fold or Push My Chips

Just hearing it makes your heart beat a little faster.
It’s the best starting hand you can get.
When you’re confident? You gotta go all-in.
And this isn’t just some gambling advice.
Sometimes in life, there are moments where you feel, “This is it.”
And in those moments, you have to be willing to bet big.
Funny thing is, though…
As you go through life, you start to recognize these moments almost instinctively.
Nobody has to teach you.
You just know when something feels different.
And honestly, the real world isn’t much different.
It follows the Power Law.
Meaning, most results come from just a handful of big opportunities.
Crypto’s No Different
It’s exactly the same in crypto.
There are thousands of coins out there.
But let’s be real — only a few actually make people serious money.
Bitcoin, Ethereum… obviously.
Even meme coins like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, PEPE —
they’ve all had moments where they were someone’s pocket aces.
The problem?
When pocket aces show up,
most people are too scared to go big.
“What if I’m wrong?”
“What if it crashes?”
Been there. Done that.
I’ve missed plenty of big opportunities because I hesitated.
Stan Druckenmiller once said:
“The best trades are obvious in hindsight, so clear that even a blind man could see them.”
Man, that’s so true.
You look back and think,
“That was the moment, wasn’t it?”
But at the time, it never feels that obvious.
Or even if it does, you’re too scared to pull the trigger.
Pocket Aces in Real Life
In crypto, pocket aces definitely exist.
A project suddenly exploding with developer activity
A chart that keeps climbing even when the market’s crap
Everyone suddenly talking about the same coin
But here’s the big question:
Is this really pocket aces?
That’s where the real skill comes in.
I’m not saying I can always tell.
Far from it.
But one thing I do know:
When you’re sure, you gotta bet big.
Because if you’re holding pocket aces and only throw in a few chips…
what’s the point?
But Don’t Go All-In on Just Anything
Of course, I’m not telling you to go all-in on every random coin.
That’s just gambling.
The Pocket Aces Principle is pretty simple:
→ Go all-in only when your conviction is high.
And fold everything else.
I’ve messed this up plenty of times.
Wasting time on “meh” coins
Making small gains only to lose them all again
Missing the one big chance that would’ve changed everything
The truth is, in crypto, what really moves your portfolio isn’t the hundred small trades.
It’s those few rare “pocket aces” moments.
These days, I’m constantly asking myself:
Is this my pocket aces?
Would I regret missing this?
Am I gonna look back and think, “Why the hell didn’t I go bigger?”
The Bottom Line
Crypto’s a power law world.
A single big opportunity can be worth more than a hundred little ones.
And if you don’t see your pocket aces yet?
→ Fold.
Don’t let “good enough” blind you from the truly great.
One day, your pocket aces will show up.
When they do, don’t be afraid to bet big.
Because in the end, life and crypto aren’t all that different.
