"It's a rich man's game!" my brother's words echoed through my head. That was his advice regarding the stock market. Because of his advice, my participation in the rich man's game came to a screeching halt after a stock purchase that went sour.

"What happened?"

"Let me tell you!"

In 2011, before flying back to Texas from Pennsylvania, mom had the television tuned into the early morning news program with their celebrity stock advisor. The celebrity stock advisor's spiel regarding high dividends and amazing growth equity that was the next big thing. This spiel entered my conscious and subconscious simultaneously. Once back in Texas, without doing enough research, my purchase of stock didn't pan out. Without going ballistic, this is a gentler way to say, "My investment lost money." That's not what one plays the investment game for.

With that equity investment experience and my brother's advice. Staying away from the stock market, far away, was the correct course of action.

However, last year, there was a story on Vocal media that you can read here. Purchasing the stock (equity) in Vocal, naturally, by buying at the $5.00 a share wasn't a smart decision. Since the price immediately went, as they say, South, my investment has turned from green to red. Red wasn't a good outcome.

Nevertheless, there still is a 50/50 chance that it will climb out of its doldrums and give me a tidy return on my investment. Waiting to see, is the pits!

After being out of the stock market for ten years, my first monetary investment in Vocal stock was made. But, wait, that wasn't the only purchase made. My son was convinced that there was money to be made in an auto stock.

Of course, with his enthusiastic knowledge regarding the stock. my second investment was made at a hefty cost. While it took a while for it to climb, it did. Then, it really accelerated. Ugh! Hitting a brick wall, the stock is headed down faster than a speeding bullet.

In the investment game, there is still hope that it will turn around and speedily giving me the return on my investment that is hoped for.

Believing in the power of three, yep, one more equity purchase was made. While my daughter didn't have any influence on my decision regarding my third investment. In a roundabout way, there is a connection, Now, the third stock went up, looking good. Until the price went further and further down. How could this be happening? Is it the power of three or what?

Obviously, there is still a 50/50 chance that my three stocks will have a comeback and return dollars and cents to my retirement fund which would be absolutely wonderful.

Without a doubt, stock investments is a game. What goes up can also come down. Or, CRASH! Yes, take out the R and you have CASH. It's a risk and not everyone has a high-risk tolerance. Being able to ride out the highs and the lows, you will save yourself from an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Regardless, checking on the stock daily isn't advised, but this Capricorn is as curious as a cat. Seeing the green on the stock quotes, my excitement takes off. Love it! Of late, the color red dominates the three stocks, it's the color that causes me the most anguish.

At least for now, the investment game is on. Admittedly, my brother's words, "It's a rich man's game!" are echoing in my brain. As for loving or leaving the stock market, the clock is ticking. In the investment game, all three are on HOLD. With the clock still running, it won't be long before we will love it or leave it.

Writer's notes: Thank you for reading. This wasn't written for a challenge. It was a quickly written on a Thursday afternoon, musing over my move to join in the stock market investment game, love it or leave it.
