John Tortorella is Long Gone but his Press Conferences Said a Lot About the Media
Photo by Rich Mitchell The Rangers fired John Tortorella several years ago. He had refused to yield his style to the makeup of the team roster and got what he deserved. But I still miss his press conferences and not just for the entertainment value.

Somers Girls go to 4-0 with 3-2 Victory over John Jay
If time of possession counted toward the final score in soccer, Saturday afternoon’s Girls Class A meeting between Somers and John Jay would have been a blowout. But the Tuskers will still take the narrow 3-2 victory they held on for, and as long they keep the handy work with their feet going forward, the success should continue.

Meeting D'Angelo Russell
Dear D'Angelo Russell, It was great to meet you after the Golden State Warriors game tonight. It's always good to meet a fellow genius left-hander. You know what they say: "left-handed, right-minded." A lot of geniuses have been left-handed: Einstein, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, a bunch of others too.

The Uneven Ice in the NHL
January 4th, 2020, saw an afternoon NHL game being played between the Minnesota Wild and the visiting Winnipeg Jets. The one consistency throughout the game was the constantly inconsistent calls, which led to the overtime victory for the home team. The need to hold the officials, who are all members of the NHLOA (National Hockey League Officials Association) is needed, especially when there are games such as this called, and players being injured and no retribution being made in the form of missed calls.

Things to Note for First-time Skaters
I went skating for the first time ever with an African Association in my school and I had a cocktail of emotions that I was feeling before, during and after skating. What I had imagined in my head was like the ones in the movies where the guy holds the girl or the girl hold the guy and one of them falls in such a pleasant way but my reality was far from that. So, I’m going to be dropping some things that I learned in my first skating experience.

Liverpool 1-0 Wolves: Why 42 is the answer for the Reds
Douglas Adams famously wrote in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy that "The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything is 42." For Liverpool, after their 1-0 win over Wolves at Anfield on Sunday, that’s exactly right.
