The Dark Days of Motherhood
There are so many dark days of motherhood. And for me, there have been a lot of them in the past few weeks. This week being particularly bad. A couple of days ago, it was one of those days where you have to put your child in their crib and let them cry. Because if you don't, you feel like you just might lose it. And you know what I did during the 20 minutes I let my beautiful one and a half year old daughter cry? I sat in my backyard and sobbed into a towel. Feeling like a fucking failure. Because she had been crying for six hours, and nothing I had done made her feel any better.

How to Stay Stylish When It’s Freezing Out
For many, colder weather means having to sacrifice fashion for warmth. Things All Dog Owners Do.... Top Story - January 2018.
I love my dogs more than I love most humans. I love most dogs more than I even like most humans. I choose my dogs' happiness, a lot of the time, over my own pleasure, contentment, comfort, money, or sex life. I do weird things. So does my boyfriend. We thought we were the only weirdos with dogs, but the longer we have these creatures in our lives, the more crazy weird dog people we meet and the more we realise we are part of a wonderful, strange community of people that do the exact same weird things as us.

Life of a Stay at Home Wife and Mother
As a stay at home wife and mother of a three-year-old, I can tell you that it is the most rewarding experience of my life. I love being able to take care of my daughter and be at home to have dinner ready for my husband every night. Although I love every aspect of it, it is anything but glamorous.

Thin Lips
I had always liked smoking. The slender cigarette burning slowly as you watch the glowing red tip working closer to your face as if it were eating its way to your mouth. The smoke however, was my favorite part, how you'd let the grey mist seep out from thin lips, looking like the fog that spills over onto an open field during a rainy day. To be honest I wouldn't actually say I enjoyed smoking entirely, the only aspect that drew me in was the silkiness of the smoke, how it lofted through the air in front of me then dissipated as if it had never even been there.

Grief and Carrying On...
Our dog died... there, I've said it. It's been a struggle this last month and to be honest I'm surprised it's only been a month. I keep expecting to look at the calendar and discover that, much like an old cartoon or film, the months have just flown past as if by magic, but they haven't. Poppy died late afternoon on Thursday, December 14, 2017; she was just six years old.

The Silence Breakers – Time's Person(s) of the Year
December 2017 As the year draws to a close and we amuse ourselves with the usual "best of/worst of" awards, this year’s Time Magazine’s "Person of the Year" is more than usually eye-catching. On first inspection, the person of the year is no less than five people. However, on closer examination it turns out that five is actually six. As such the cover could itself could qualify for the "Year’s Most Tragic Picture"; the visible five are amongst the most high-profile women to have come out about the sexual harassment, the one tenth is an anonymous young hospital worker from Texas. The black velvet clad elbow belonging to Ms. Anonymous is undoubtedly the most poignant part of this image and, when all the celebrity brouhaha is done about who grabbed whose tits, one senses the owner of this elbow will feel no bolder, no more comforted, nor nearer to any kind of closure.
