Tired of Explaining the Importance of the Aziz Ansari Story? This Might Help!
Imagine you are pulling out of a parking lot. You check your surroundings and everything looks clear so you start slowly backing out. Suddenly, an Audi going much faster than it should zips around the corner and hits your back taillight. The driver that hit you rolls down their window, sees the moderate damage, and says, “Didn’t see you there” and drives away. Baffled by the series of events that have just transpired you sit in silence for a moment while you process. By the driver's demeanor, you suspect they were intoxicated. Before the car pulls out of sight you instinctively snap a picture of their license plate and proceed to call your insurance company to report the incident. They promise to look into it. A few days later you get a call from the driver-who-hit-you’s insurance company. They remind you that some people are hit going 75 mph on the freeway and that you shouldn't be making such a big deal over a little fender bender. You try and plead your case again. You recount that the driver appeared intoxicated and that the driver committed a hit and run—but they cut you off. They ignore everything you've just said and bring up that the person you are accusing has a car that is more valuable than yours and the repairs are going to be more costly for them, so why are you complaining again? They regress further and tell your photo isn't enough evidence, there is nothing they can do for you, and hang up the phone.

Seize the Moment
Every mom has hopes and expectations when they first see the positive sign on their pregnancy test. The sheer excitement starts to overwhelm their being and the realism of having a baby begins to hit. We even begin to set up a way to tell our significant other that their lives are also going to change; getting up at two AM for that delicious double chocolate fudge sundae so that the baby gets the cravings it needs, or preparing French toast with melted cheese on top, sprinkled with salt and pepper and a slice of tomato. Delicious.

Fatherhood
They say that there are three kinds of men when they find out that they are going to be a daddy. The first one is overwhelmed with joy the moment they find out, the second needs to see the ultrasound for reality to sink in that he will be a dad, and the third one gets his paternal instincts as soon as the baby is born in the delivery room. I was neither. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy and looking forward to fatherhood, but it did not hit me until way after he was born.

My Life and How Rough It Has Been
My name is Whitney King and I am 22-years-old. Personally all the roughness of my life started when I was eight-years-old. Well that's when the actual pain started. I was abandoned by the man I thought was my biological father and finding out three months later he wasn't. So that's when the anger and self pity on myself started to flood in. I became violent and out of control to the point I could not control the anger and hate that I had towards my family and for myself. My mom had a choice to give me up and put me into the system but she didn't. She actually had them put me in a children's hospital up in Concord, California, which I did get a lot of help from. I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder which scared my mom, my family, and it also scared me.

Meila Moo Saves the Day
Meila Moo Saves the Day Meila Ruth came into my life on November 14th, 2017. I googled puppies on Craigslist, searched the Facebook marketplace and looked up every breeder in Tennessee. I found little Meila and her brothers and sisters on Craigslist finally. She was the runt of the litter. We drove over an hour to pick her up and she was half the size of the brother they brought along for us to choose from.

Great Apps Every Woman Should Have on Their Phone
These days, our life is on our phones. It's sad to say, but we evolved to rely on our phones for many, many things. From keeping us organized, staying connected with others, and keeping track on our fitness, there's a lot that our smartphones can do for us. We keep financial records on our phones, make grocery lists, and email for work. We take advantage of our phones each and everyday. But we don't have to view our smartphones as something that's bad for us. In fact, we learn so much from using our phones.
