I’m Not Perfect, According to the Media...
Every step you take determines who you are. Society tries to pressure us to fit inside the social “norm” and aspire to be more like what we see in the news. I know, I know, it seems as if everybody nowadays makes the statement about the one body size that is shown in the media. However, I’m here to show the other side of the story. People always talk about the hourglass figure that is displayed in the media and how larger people need to be shown too, but rarely does someone discuss the other extreme on the spectrum, the skinny.

The Pack
Wolves are amazing creatures and one of my favorite beasts. As everyone knows, dogs take traits from the wolves and are linked as a relative. Dogs are now domestic and some wolves are born into family environments and sold as pets, but there are still wolves who stroll and hunts in packs. Wolves have been allocated with the symbol of spirit, loyalty, and protector, but many people see that wolves are misunderstood creatures. Cultures such as the Amerindian culture see wolves as teachers and pathfinders, and in Japan, the word "wolf" is defined as a "great god." Today, wolves are in a vulnerable state of existence, just like they always have been. They are the most hunted animal in the past and nearly became extinct in the early beginnings of the twentieth century, although, in some parts of the world, the wolf was under protection. In 1934, Germany was the first nation to see the need to protect them. In the 1600s, Ireland was referred to as the wolf land, which is when the huntings increased. Vikings wore their wolf skins and consumed wolf blood as well, as they believed it allowed them to carry a wolf's spirit in time of war.

How Do We Live?
I often think about the words that we have left unsaid. Like a burning on the edge of our tongues, we long to say it, but we fear the hurt that may follow. If we always said how we really felt and not filter it based on the person, what would be the response? We hide behind words that are meaningless and empty, while our hearts ache in pain.

Moms Have Dreams Too!
Mothers everywhere are often condemned for daring to do what everyone has a right to do. Dream. Mothers are often thought of as a person who has it all together. Dream career, dream house, and dream husband. But what if she doesn't have those things? What if a mother has her child prior to finishing college? Or if she isn't married yet? If a mother chooses to attend college post baby, she may run into some scrutiny.

How Does Child Abuse Happen?
Child abuse, how it happens, how to recognize it, and how to stop it, has always been an area of interest for me. I was abused mentally, physically, and sexually as a small child. I was saved from the horrors in my life, but not before I was old enough for it to permanently scar me. My abuse has effected my entire life; it has affected how I am with people, my ability to have long term relationships, and worse than that, I have had nightmares since I was a kid.

The Pied Pippa
I am cursed with the knowledge that I have a friendship limit. By this I don’t mean that I can only have so many friends, but rather I acknowledge that there is a side to me that only true friends will put up with. This side of my personality inevitably rears its ugly head when people have known me for a certain length of time. It’s when the crazy comes out, it can take years, it could be hours of time spent together. It merely lies in wait, waiting for some flash of recognition, a hint of zane in the other person and then BAM, she’s here. The real me. The girl who doesn’t censor her speech, swears too much, unloads geekery, sends too many Buzzfeed links, reads YA fiction, and puts on the delightful voice of Sally Sourbottom. I have seriously been punched for putting on that voice.
