What It's Like Being a Host Student
Host families are families who agree to let a student from a foreign country stay in their house for a short period of time, and attend school with their child while undertaking a study tour. Being a host student is a rich opportunity for a plethora of reasons. When I was in school, I was a host student for seven years. Each year, my family and I hosted a student from Japan. If you have the space in your home, and your family is willing and able, I highly recommend being a host student at least once in your life.

How I Manage to Work 20 Hours a Day
My secret to working 20 hours a day for months on end is due to a combination of workaholism and metabolism, which combine together to allow me to do this, so I would not recommend anyone else to try it as not every person's body can handle the things I put usually mine through. My workaholic tendency allows me to continue to work long hours alone, the metabolism makes sure that I don't require much food or water for long periods of time, while passion towards work allows me to do this without any unhealthy stress. Even if the time spent working does not reach exactly 20 hours, it is still around 16 to 18 hours per day, double the normal working hours for most people.

"If He Needed Someone, I Wanted to Be That Someone"
I saw something last week that impacted me deeply. I was at my local Starbucks, typing away on my laptop, totally in the zone, when suddenly, my eyes were pulled to this older gentlemen, sitting on his own, barely touching his coffee, swollen eyes and no ring on his finger. I don’t usually go up to people I don’t know, but I felt like I needed to approach him. But I was nervous. I didn’t want to be presumptuous. Maybe he was just waiting for someone, maybe he was perfectly fine. But maybe he wasn’t. This was the usual back and forth I would play in my mind in these situations, but I grew frustrated with my fear and insecurity. If he indeed needed someone, I wanted to be that someone.

Introducing Myself
I am Katarina Tolkmit, and I used to work as a fashion designer for a brand in Upper Austria over the last 14 Years. That was a very long time; it was like quitting a long lasting relationship, but at the end I am very happy that it is over now. So many great new things are happening to me, and I can live out more and more all my other potentials. The last two and a half years in this company were a really up and down rollercoaster ride with lots of emotional up and downs.
