Giving In
It's a constant battle between you and your thoughts. Your mind turns against you, and you struggle with this endless game of tug o' war. It tells you lies and freezes your feelings so you're numb to the pain you cause yourself. You keep gasping for air under a tide of unbearable darkness but at time's spell that your mind has put you under wares off for a just a few seconds and all becomes clear. You plunge into a void of guilt and despair desperate for a change. The answer so clear yet so out of mind. You're too distracted from the pain to know that it is so easy to fix the problem. You begin to quit, never knowing you were a quitter, and you start to believe that it's too real not to be true. But like a lucid dream, you can control it, but only until you realize that it's a dream after all. Lies become truth in your head and the voices of others become silent, their words are gathered in dozens but yet they're so meaningless. What does it take to push past this never ending path of shadows keeping you from success? Shadows you have now created and made your reality.

Women in Comics
“[In comics] representation is absolutely vital.” – Kelly Sue DeConnick In 2014, the comics art organization Sequart produced the documentary She Makes Comics directed by Marisa Stotter in an attempt to trace the history of women in the comics industry since the early 1900s. Throughout the hour and ten minute documentary one thing is made perfectly clear, as comics writer and editor Kelly Sue DeConnick states, “representation is absolutely vital” (Stotter 0:0:57). For some time now, the comics industry has taken flack for its lack of diverse representation within its creative teams as well as the comics that they produce. While representations of race and queer bodies have made some impact on the industry, the lack of women both within the comics as well as working in the industry has taken a front seat in the drive forward for better representation in comics.

You have got to be kidding me. I have uncovered it all. I have seen everything. Thinking that this love would last. Thinking I might be the last. These are the things that will never come to pass. Just a bitter memory. I won't go away. You brought me here to this place again. Now you want me to go away. I am just a loser here in this fucking game you play. You think so wrong I'm not right. Said all there is to say. I hope you find a sunshine. All I see here is grey. You get so mad you're just like me now, you just want to run away. There is no honesty. You were just a way to carry me to my destiny. You play your games as much you like. Makes no difference to me I know who you really are. Ugly.
