Nostalgia and Hunger
This roundup begins and ends with stories about food. We didn't plan it. It just happened that way. It's fitting though, isn't it? Humanity begins at home, and often enough, it begins around the table. For many, the best memories start with the smell of food wafting from the kitchen. For others, that smell is a reminder of those who failed to show up for dinner.

Spread Love it’s the Brooklyn Way
On Lewis Avenue in Bedstuy, Brooklyn there is a gem located across the street from the Brooklyn Public Library that is nestled among the busy street of other eateries and establishments. The blue hue of the signage and front entrance is a signature welcome of Brooklyn Beso Restaurant & Bar. Though my recent visit happened in the span of twice in one month, my first experience with the Latin American fare with a Caribbean twist was back in 2016 and ever since then, I have been back for more whenever I am in the neighborhood.

Technology vs Humanity
Ever since the period of the first Industrial Revolution in the nineteenth century, writers, philosophers, politicians and religious leaders have expressed concern about the impact of new technologies on human behavior and values. We are currently living through an era in which information and communication technologies are developing more rapidly than ever before. But how will this new technological revolution affect future generations’ ideas about what it means to be human?

Bisexual Visibility Week: The Importance of The Aces' "Under My Influence"
Hailing from the conservative town of Provo, Utah, The Aces are an indie-pop band with catchy hooks, impressive guitar riffs, and an irresistible summer vibe. Members Cristal (vocals, guitar), Alissa (drums), Katie (lead guitar, vocals), and McKenna (bass) are self-taught musicians that have been in a band together since they were a young age. However, it was the moment that songwriter Lorde won her first Grammy at age eighteen that inspired the young women to pursue music professionally.

My Top 8 Picks For Pre-School Age Learning At Home
When I made the decision to postpone preschool for my twins after COVID-19 hit, I was definitely overcome with a mix of frustration and happiness. I’ve truly loved teaching Ames and Joules new things at home, but—to be totally honest—it can be a little tiring when there’s nobody else to help. For the past ~3 years, the twins have been at home with me. They’ve never been to a mother’s day out, daycare, or any type of organized schooling during the week. We tentatively plan to put the twins in preschool this next Spring 2021—but, until then, I am doing what I can to keep Ames and Joules learning at home. That said, through research online, reading reviews, and talking with other moms, I’ve found some very useful educational material to ease the process of keeping my twins learning at home in the interim.

How to Cut Through The Noise and Actually Choose the Right Mattress For You. Created with: Lull.
Nowadays, it seems like we’re buying everything and anything online. From groceries to home decor to makeup, I’m definitely no stranger to online shopping. I pretty much get a package everyday because nothing makes me happier than skipping an uncertain parking situation, searching for the exact item I’m looking for and then, of course, waiting in line. And sure, it’s easy to click and add to cart a new lipstick, but what about those BIG purchases? Say, a new mattress? After all, we spend a third of our lives on our mattress, making it pretty much one of the most important purchases we can make.

Processing My Feelings through Basquiat.
Jean Michel Basquiat was a graffiti artist who gained notoriety in the 1980s for his gritty neo-expressionist style. Neo-expressionism is a style of art that communicates vivid and jarring images which often leaves viewers feeling a sense of tension, alienation and ambiguity. Jean Michel Basquiat's work focused on the internal struggle that we can all relate to in this pandemic.

The Red Centre Down Under: Why it needs to be on your bucket list.
When you think of the Northern Territory, Australia… Do you think of red dirt, crocodiles, and flies? If you answered yes to the above, I can’t blame you. I thought the same for the first half of my career in travel before I had the opportunity to explore the hidden jewels of outback Australia.

Why I’m chasing the self employment dream
What I mean by decentralized income For those familiar with the rise of various blockchain & cryptocurrency technologies, the term “decentralized” probably isn’t a new one. Instead of one central server controlled by one entity, you can now have multiple computers/servers with open-source software controlled by everyone. Since this is (somewhat) becoming the norm in the tech world, why not apply this to something we greatly depend on? Why not have multiple sources of income in lieu of one “central” stream of funds?

Black Minds Matter
Growing up the black community I knew that seeking help for mental health was seen as weird and taboo. Telling someone you are in therapy was like openly admitting to being that psycho killer from all the horror movies. There are a wide variety of mental health issues that stretch a wide spectrum of intensity that affect most of the population. Why does my community think it affects all these people, but not us? We want to be strong. We want to be the perfect embodiment of strength. We want to be built so strong that no one from the outside world could ever break us down. Having a mental health issue is seen as a weakness. It is the crack in the foundation that threatens to tear the whole structure down. Just like eye color and freckles this is something that is passed down from parent to child year after year. It is one of those generational curses that people are always talking about. One that needs to be broken now across the board. One that is causing more harm by having so many people not receive the help they need from fear of they will be perceived.

How to Make Social Videos That Your Followers Will Want to Share
In some aspects, social video marketing isn't that different from the cinema industry. Don’t get me wrong: I’m not comparing The Godfather Trilogy to Kim Kardashian’s live streaming (at least not the first two movies). What I’m talking about is how there are many wonderful films out there that nobody knows about... and many run-of-the-mill pieces that have been a huge commercial success.
