The environment is very important to us. It’s composes what we live in. The air, wind, mountains, hills, plants, animals, etc. – they are all a part of our environment. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? I have a board on Pinterest that has pictures of some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth. It’s my “Traveling Dreams” board. I have so many traveling goals. The different environments all over the world are precious and special and should be treated with care.
We definitely have some problems with how we treat our environment currently. The amount of air pollution is appalling. Living in certain cities around the world requires a mask when going outside. How ridiculous is that? You can’t even have fresh air due to the mass production factories. That blows my mind. I couldn’t imagine not being able to go outside without protecting yourself from pollution by wearing a mask.
Plastic. That really gets people’s engines going. We are so wasteful and we don’t even spend time to properly discard of used materials. I LOVE turtles, guys. Sea turtles are so adorable. The very first time I ever went snorkeling with my dad I got to see a sea turtle out in the ocean, in his natural environment. Let me tell you, that was the most memorable day for me and one of my proudest camera shots. It’s crazy to think such kind, beautiful creatures are being killed every year by plastic. Silly, little plastic. And not just the turtles. All kinds of creatures are impacted by plastic. It completely disrupts their ecosystem. I know I’m not alone when THOSE commercials come on and you start bawling like a baby.
We should always seek to care for our environment. We should want to protect it and not let anything come in to destroy it. But why? Why would it be important for us to care for the environment? I believe Peter Quill, one of my favorite Marvel characters, said it quite nicely. “Because I’m one of the idiots who lives in it!” Our environment, our planet, is our world. It’s our home. You wouldn’t want someone to come into your house and trash it. You want it protected and safe. That’s why people install security systems and cameras.
What are you doing to protect your environment? What security systems are you installing? I’ve seen some neat ideas on plastic reduction. Even replace plastic all together with hemp products. I know several smart people all over the world are working on solutions to decrease air pollution. Let’s embrace some of these ideas. See how they can positively impact our environment.
People, stores, cars, roads, etc. – they are also a part of our environment. Just a different type of environment. Just as you would hate to live without any animals, no human beings would be quite depressing. I’m lucky to have been born in a relatively peaceful environment. Everyone is kind to each other and when one struggles, we try to help them out. It’s a happy medium.
It’s crazy to me though. I have seen several communities that don’t really care for everyone. Some people get left behind. Some people mess up and are abruptly ignored. Others drown in sorrow and debt with no help from any side. That saddens me. How crazy are we to rightly advocate for the sea turtles, but we kick our neighbors to the curb? I’m not saying we shouldn’t focus on the animals and earth, but gosh we can’t forget other human beings.
What are you doing to care for your fellow man? How are you protecting that environment? Do you help your friends in times of need? Or just that random guy down on his luck?
Take care of your environment!!
Maybe that’s using less plastic or driving your car less. Maybe that’s checking on your neighbors or helping a friend in need. Do not forget that everything in your life makes up your environment. It’s not just some fancy terminology talked about on the news. It’s real. It’s beside you every second of every day.
Vow to care for your environment! Make it worth living in!
Stay classy and sassy,
Maggie
